Shit defending cost us a win. I'm weary of our full-back and winger options and I don't think they're good enough on the whole to challenge for the league title. Saying that, we won the league and Champions League in a season where Wes Brown was right-back 90% of the time... Maybe a case of amazing quality elsewhere on the pitch can offset it like in that instance.
But I would say wide areas are our clear weak point at the moment. Luke Shaw coming back and playing to his potential would be a massive boost but who knows.

And counted for absolutely nothing

Great save from Butland to stop Lukaku's first effort as well

Love that Welbeck manages to score even when he fucks up his finish.
Kolasinac really does look like a beast of a bloke.
Back five is still a calamitous formation with Xhaka/Ramsey in the middle.
Sanchez had a frosty reception too

Was just about to slate Vardy for being an absoltue rat when it comes to buying penalties but I'm now more annoyed by him answering a question with "Yeah deffo".

Why is the application of the high boot rule, or lack of application, so liberal? Doesn't make Mane's any less of a red but Otamendi (?) and Bellerin should've gone by the same logic that Mane did. But neither got even a booking for it. So when there is a similar incident from another game and in the same game, there's justification to the grievances. There's no consistency on something that is apparently black and white.

There's no consistency on something that is apparently black and white. Did either of those two end with a boot to the jaw at speed though? Context. If a player lunges at another player when they're sprinting at each other head on, he's far more likely to see red than if he lunges in after they're side to side.

No but is there any denying that at the very least Bellerin is endangering Salah there?
