Vinnie Mac has dusted his shoulders off, and swaggered back into the football game. 8 teams, 40 man roster. Starts in 2020.
Appanrently it has billions in private backers funding it, as well as Vince selling off 100 million of WWE stock. Still don't see it being a success in terms of competing with the NFL, if it can survivor as a minor league alternate could be interesting.
His stance on if you have any criminal record, even a DUI, then you're not allowed in the league could be costly.

Probably be dreadful although it might attract those “YOURE DISRESPECTING THE FLAG” types.

I'm assuming this will be on during the off-season? In which case I'll probably watch it a few times. That criminal record thing is ridiculous though. Assuming they'll try to get people like Manziel which would be intriguing.

Just looking at twitter and seeing the type of people it’s attracting, definitely hope it fails hard.

In a world that's becoming more and more conscious, particularly advertisers, for sexist marketing and the likes, I'd be surprised if this ends up seeing the light of the day in the way it was run before.

A friend of Trump is trying to set up a competing company to the NFL that'll 'respect the flag'?
No one has seen this coming.

That’s the point though isn’t it, it’s not going to be run the way it was before. Going to tone down the sex and violence massively, plus giving themselves a lot longer to prepare (last time they didn’t have an off-season before they first played). Plus their target market is essentially conservative Americans, they’ll not be too controversial. It wasn’t a complete failure the first time round, the 30 for 30 they did on it was good, don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to think it could be a success.

Manziel is apparently holding out of his Hamilton Ti-Cats contract unless they make him the highest paid player on the team. All without having practiced once with them
No way will he be in the XFL, he'd probably ask for shares in the business the dunce

Vince desperately doesn't want to be known as the rasslin guy so it doesn't surprise he's going to take a second punt (no pun intended) at American Football.
I wish him luck but I really can't see how XFL is going to be up there with NCAA or even NFL with viewership ratings.

If the product is good the viewership shouldn't be too hard to come about, because there's absolutely a market for it. The NFL/NCAA only plays games for 5 months and it's the biggest sport in America. The problem will be getting a product on the pitch that will be worth people's time. It's definitely arguable that there aren't even enough good players to go around the NFL, so filling up another league is near impossible I think. Plus the NFL does have some major flaws that could be improved upon, so if they can get all of that right they'll get an audience. Hopefully they attract some big names to get a buzz around the league, because those initial few games will be so important. Everyone believes it'll be a failure but I don't think it's too unlikely they could succeed, but they've got to get everything right, and also get it all right for the start of the league.
