I'll put a little bit of effort in for this one but it's mostly for my own bookmark as there's a few people at work who're F1 mad. Testing schedule; Pre-season test 1; Monday February 26th - Thursday March 1st Pre-season test 2; Tuesday March 6th - Friday March 9th Best places for live updates is likely to be BBC if they run a live text, or autosport who give you so many free views a month. Sky Sports do usually do a decent round up each day too. The main changes this year are mostly cosmetic, with the flip-flop style halo being the most noticeable addition. On some cars it doesn't look that bad, on others it looks horrendous. Expect teams to push the boundaries of what they can do with it like they did with the weird coat hanger shark fin last season. Haas VF-18
Williams FW41
Red Bull RB14 (in gorgeous test livery)
Sauber C37
Ferrari FS71H
Merceds W09
McLaren MCL33
Renault did launch with images of their new car but apparently it's not the 2018 version. Toro Rosso and Force India are still to launch theirs, indeed Force India still haven't decided on their final team name yet. Initial thoughts are that the Red Bull testing livery is fucking gorgeous as per, the Williams and Ferrari look no different than usual, the Mereceds looks mean as fuck from the side, and that McLaren colour scheme is absolutely horrendous and makes it look like an absolute back marker.

Looks like street races in Hanoi and Miami next year plus the return of Buenos Aires.

I like the Halo although I’d prefer a proper wrap around windshield, essentially an open LMP design with more protection.

If it’s another Mercedes procession this season I’m not watching.

According to Ted Kravitz, Ferrari aren't actually all that happy with their performance despite the farcically quick headline times from Vettel yesterday and Kimi today. Apparently they're struggling on the race-simulations, and are burning far too much oil and fuel. The Haas car looks deceptively quick too but again, is having fuel burn issues.
His supposed ranking is Mercedes, Red Bull, Ferrari and then Renault the best of the rest.
Despite the headline time from McLaren and Alonso earlier, I think they're going to be closer to the midfield than last season but not even close to podiums. Williams are going to have a shocker of a year given the line-up, supposed monetary issues and lack of developments.

Most of the experts seem to think Ferrari have fucked it.

Which looking at the times is weird. But yeah, apparently they're not happy with race pace, also they can't get the set up right and Red Bull have apparently nailed the high take at the back.
Also, Renault's exhaust set up is very clever.

Hamilton just got pole by 7 tenths. I regret to inform you this season is a bust.

Nah, far too early for that imo. His lap was ridiculously good and before then Bottas looked slower than the Ferrari's didn't he? Put it down to the Merc being slightly better than the Ferrari but Hamilton driving the arse off of it. Think it'll actually be closer than last season with Red Bull in the mix, and last season wasn't really a procession by any means.
Just hope Alonso can sneak his way into the fight at some point.
