*chomp*
1) Why would he be joking? A lot of Spurs fans, if not all, consider King the best cb we've had since the glory days. Probably same amount will happily argue he's been England's best centre half (or classically, would have been had he not been unfortunate enough to not have knees)
2) King's name not being mentioned in a debate, mini or full on, on an internet forum (no matter how good Sween/Pestar have set it up) doesn't invalidate SoS' opinion at all, really.
3) It's not that interesting that his name wasn't mentioned. A lot of names probably weren't mentioned. Interesting for you because it means you can present yer opinion as axiom but that doesn't really mean anything.

All the points in the world for using axiom in a debate about two shit centre halves.

@mikecfc If you weren't trying to generate an argument/discussion (in which case, why even bother posting) then you were posting (without tagging, -1 for tactics) for a response, hence my chomp.
& my original point re: this kind of discussion still stands. We'll just go round and round in circles about our own opinions and not come to a conclusion. Moot.
Bud nipped pls.

but I am Sol Campbell and Rio Ferdinand were better defenders than King at their peak, imo.
Terry had a better career. Reckon an injury free King might've kept him out of the England team though.
Don't rate Dawson at all. Would he still be at Spurs and have 200 apps if he wasn't English? I don't think so. Mid-table defender.

not gonna lie, completely forgot about Sol, yeah I'd definitely put him and Ledley on par with each other
Rio just under, not sure why but I consider him the complete defender rather than the actual best
Terry quite a bit under that

Shame about Woodgate's injuries. Without his troubles, he'd have trumped the lot of them.

Don't be bloody ridiculous. I'm not even Terry's biggest fan, but he's clearly been one of the world best.

Hes been with 8 years cos hes been good for us for 8 years tbh not cos he was born in yorkshire, not like we have a manager with an english agenda either is it he's got his faults and is prob too limited to be an england regular sure but hes been our most consistent (time and quality wise) player in the last 10 odd years maybe apart from mod

I think Dawson is good but I see him as a lesser player than likes of the aforementioned players add to that likes of Carragher, Woodgate, Lescott, Jagielka, Jones, Smalling and Cahill.
I'd throw Dawson in a 3rd tier in with the likes of Shawcross, Richards, Taylor, Upson, Caulker (till he proves otherwise) who are above average but not Champions League or international standard players.
