How the fuck has he played seventy games in 6 months? That’s insane. Surely can’t be true?! How Madrid have managed to take two of the best midfielders in Premier League history in Alonso and Modric for a combined £60m is beyond me. Imagine the two greatest Premier League midfielders ever having a grand total of zero Premier League titles between them. In terms of what they did in England they’re not fit to smear the Vaporub onto Vieira’s chest.

Talking of Real Madrid taking Premier League midfielders remember for every Modric or Alonso there is a Faubert or a Gravesen (who admittedly was class for a brief period)

ROFL I actually wasn't too arsed but a drive into work listening to Glendenning gloating and seeing the Croatian comments followed by a morning of everyone dissecting the game in the office has be raging and ready to annex them.

Lmao just read it again and that is a very fair and very true point.

Looking back, this team, and this manager has managed to give us enjoyment we haven't had in years as England fans,. Plus, these past two or three weeks have been great. As a country we've been able to have a laugh, say it's coming home, and for a lot of us, see England get to a semi final for the first time.

Obviously overall Southgate has been brilliant, and things like the change to 3-5-2, and incorporating Trippier into the starting XI have been massively successful calls by him. But I hope he’s learnt from last night and the World Cup overall. Writing was on the wall after half time, and I’ve really felt in the two games we’ve started to struggle (Colombia and Croatia), we’ve taken way too long to change things and get substitutes on. Seemed so obvious we needed more solidity in the middle last night and we played the exact same system all the way through. We couldn’t get out to stop the crosses coming in, with Perisic and Mandzukic against you that’s a huge risk. This isn’t a Shelvey plug, but what the fuck was the point of Danny Welbeck in the squad? Absolutely crying out for more help in midfield last night, a fit Lallana or Chamberlain could have been so vital for this team, but it really felt like we needed another option rather than a 4th or 5th choice striker when we play one up front pretty much.
