That sneaky Pep, growing a grass that stifles the opponents quick passing but still allows his own side to pass quickly. The mans a genius.
Next theory is the grass was clearly left longer to make it harder to run through and thus nullify our hard pressing.

The maddest thing is that an off the cuff comment on a fan podcast has been taken on by the media and used to question Guardiola, as if it’s representative of the consensus.
The pitch was a fucking disgrace though.

i don’t blame it for us losing, we were shite and had shocking performances come from an entire side of the defence and dug ourselves a hole (no pun intended)
but the pitch was fucking shite I don’t see how anyone can argue that
If anything the pitch being worse suits us more, we’re not as reliant on accurate passing as City are because we play into space quite a lot so there’s a lot more room for manoeuvre with us, I’m just saying the point that the pitch was shit is valid, but they didn’t grow it just to make it harder for us of course not

Honestly if I hadn't seen it mentioned I'd never have even realised. Didn't notice it at the time so can't have had much of an affect on the game.

Didnt seem to bother City. Worst excuse in football blaming the pitch when both sides play on the same bloody one.

Actually, the long grass meant that when there was a gust of wind at precisely the moment Stones cleared the ball of the line, it pushed the painted line back slightly.
Genius
