Liverpool booing the Napoli player when he could have had his leg broken. Classy. Looked like the best tackle I’ve seen in my life in the ground. What a set of lads eh. Real Madrid next plz.

That referee can get to fuck by the way, could’ve sent Van Dijk off and that was part of getting literally everything wrong that game Honestly think he was on the take. Going by what I’ve been told he got the Van Dijk tackle right, but genuinely the worst refereeing performance I’ve ever seen. Must have been bought and paid for.

Alł the people saying it was straight at Alisson seem to be missing the point that it’s only straight at him because Alisson has put himself there. Milik should score, but imagine trying to take away from that save because you’re too thick to realise he’s had to move across his goal, move out at the striker and then make himself big.

lol what, alisson is basically exactly where he should be, it's not like he makes some dramatic flying movement to get back across the goal. good save but people downplaying it a bit are hardly wrong

Ball coming from the opposite side of the pitch, he’s moved across, stepped back to deal with Milik shooting first time, adjusted when Milik has taken the touch, sprung out and made himself big.
People are downplaying it with the logic that because it’s straight at him it’s a save every keeper would make, as if De Gea, Kepa and Leno haven’t all conceded shots straight at them in the last 10 days. Let’s also not forget that Bale’s shot was straight at Karius. Given the situation, it’s up there for sabes I’ve seen by a Liverpool keeper with Carson and Dudek (Chelsea and Milan twice) in 2005 and Reina in the FA Cup final. It’s one we’ve become used to our keepers not making for far too long honestly and thinking of it as anything other than a world class save is stupid.
But you literally made my point in the first ten words of that post anyway. He’s exacrly where he should be.

While we’re on the subject of goalkeepers, Courtois is fucking shite.

So it’s a completely basic save where it would be a mistake if he let it in and at the same time world class? How have you gotten your point that confused. Good save nothing more, made even more impressive by the moment, pretty obvious to anyone not a Liverpool fan.

in fairness if you've had mignolet or karius as your keeper for a while I can see why that save is world class to you. it is excellent goalkeeping in terms of positioning and reaction in taking the step out towards the striker. the best keepers do those simple things well.
Alisson and van Dijk combined have made Liverpool proper contenders though haven't they. Although anyone saying van Dijk's tackle the other night isn't a straight red need their head checked

That’s it really. Been too used to Mignolet trying to eat his gloves and Karius throwing it in his own net then saying sorry on instagram, promising to improve.
When Alisson made that howler against Leicester then came out and said he wouldn’t do it again I thought ‘oh here we go again’ but he doesn’t fuck about anymore and all the focus has been on him as a shot stopper, which it turns out he’s very good at.

save reminded me of Schmichael from Les Ferdinand in 96 i think and that's one the most iconic saves of all time
