They sounded great to be fair to them. I think Napoli in 2010 were solid but I weren’t there tonight so I can’t really compare.

We've looked so shaky and vulnerable at the back since replacing the 'shaky and vulnerable' Davinson Sanchez with the 'world class' Alderweireld. We're flat and ineffective in midfield without the 'flat and ineffective' Dele Alli. There's no fucking edge at all and if Kane is dropping back 15/20 yards more than he should be its got worse without Alli behind him
Dembele has this season looked a hybrid of half fit and half arsed. When him and Dier are both on form they're a good unit, when one is off form they're both shite because one depends on the other in getting the ball to the wing backs or attackers as quick and efficient as possible, its just not happening they look more likely to get closed down and intercepted when the balls coming to them than to even lay off a 10 yard safety pass somewhere, its sucking the life out of us before its even starting at times
Kane looks exhausted but in a mental way more than a physical one. He spent most of last seasons CL campaign and the World Cup picking studs and elbows out of his body and its having its effect on him. He'll score more than enough between now and May, times like this should be any eye opener to an Eriksen or a Lucas or Lamela, when Kane isn't scoring you guys really need to be making up for it and they don't step up anywhere near well enough
Every game we go into without Lloris, could be against Barcelona could be against Brighton, I always have the feeling we'll need to score 2/3 to win every time. Lloris is a long way from being the best keeper I've seen at dealing with crosses and corners, its probably his biggest fault, but Vorm is a fish out of water for every single ball that comes into our box

I listen to a podcast here called Second Captains and they were talking about Kane. Wondering if Poch needs to insist on resting him? Why has he played 90 minutes in every league match this season? Hazard came off the bench for 15 and 20 minutes in the first two games and it seems to have had a great effect, whereas even in the World Cup Kane looked tired and like he was carrying something (even though everyone insisted he wasn't) - surely he needed to be managed a bit at the start of the season?
I haven't watched much of Spurs but I do find it odd that someone who played so much last year and so far into the World Cup hasn't been rested at all at the start of the season.

I saw Hoddle blaming last night on a lack of leadership which is a load of bollocks. You’ve got the England captain there, Vertonghen with over 100 caps for one of the best countries in the world. Spurs squad has got leaders. They just fell asleep in the last ten minutes that cost them. They cruised through that game because until Icardi scored they didn’t have to do anything more.
Kane should definitely be given some time out. He’s not firing on all cylinders anyway so they won’t necessarily miss his goals at the moment. The manager needs to shoulder some blame. If he’s coming into a season with Vorm as his backup and no alternative to Dembele, that’s on him partially.
Maybe Spurs have plateaued. Can still beat anyone on their day but they’ve stagnated since that 2015-16 season. They need to give Pochettino the resources to actually build a title challenger, not expect that the same squad which did so 3 years ago can still do it now.

I think the best solution short term is for Son to play through the middle, the problem is if you're Poch and you've lost 3 games in a row, if you bench Kane and you still don't win there's going to be a big backlash - I doubt it'll happen and I imagine he'll just try and play Kane through this spell, he's always seemed hesitant to change the line-up, his idea of squad rotation honestly doesn't go further than changing the full backs every couple of games, he starts Kane in as many cup games as he can, any dead rubber games we've had in the last few years he's played him, been at tournaments 3 of the last 4 summers, and I think the player is at a mental block now. We could've benefitted from Janssen or Llorente ever looking like stepping up
Dembele is looking increasingly knackered at the top level, his injury problems have been well documented not least by his manager over the last 2 years but its another season we've strolled into with him as a first choice (its pretty much a straight fight between him and Winks, who's injury issues are probably even worse, for a starting role), whether thats down to Levy or Pochettino (and I have a good idea which) its criminal.
