Nope. In those situations it is 100% down to the medical staff. The manager can be a cunt about it but the medical staff absolutely have the final say. It's an incredibly serious issue. Either way they should be gone in the morning. Sacked if they let him go on, or resigning to protect their professional credibility if they were overruled.

Fucking hell, our absolute refusal to invest in the squad has really come home to roost now hasn't it.
45 minutes where we need a goal and our bench options are a 12 year old and the ghost of Vincents past.
How did we just let Dembele walk and not replace him? Why do we think that gangly, slow target men are a like for like cover for Kane? Why do we not have more attacking midfield options that arent constantly injured (sorry Erik)?
We're 4 or 5 players away from being a comfortable 3rd place in the league and from actually standing a chance in this tie and it's Levy's fault that we are where we are.

Eh scratch that, apparently doctors gave the thumbs up for him to continue so I have no defence for them.

It’s the most boring whinge I know but it’s ridiculous how much time Onana has wasted there and the ref still blows just after 3 minutes.

Best thing we took from that game is working out our formation for the second leg.
Goals rest entirely on Sonny's shoulders though, fuck knows the rest of our lot haven't got one in them.
Also full credit to Moussa Sissoko man, what a transformation. The mental fortitude to press on after last season and the stick he got, now our player of the season for sure.

A good few years back, Brian O’Driscoll got the most blatant concussion you’ll ever see against France I think it was, in Dublin. It was the start of the proper chat around concussion in rugby. He was off for 10 minutes and was let back on because Ireland were struggling. The whole stadium could see the man shouldn’t have been anywhere near a rugby pitch, it was properly gut wrenching and the fallout was massive from that. A similar thing happened George North and Wales when he was knocked out for a few mins.
I know concussion isn’t as much of a focus in football but there’s just no excuse for that tonight. The medical staff who said he was alright are a fuckin disgrace imo.

Yeah the North one was shocking, happened when he was with Northampton too not long after and thankfully meant he had an extended period out of the game. Hartley's had similar time out this season. Wasn't the response to North when they finally gave the doctors an immediate replay of the incident so they could assess the severity of the impact and respond better? Sure that's where it came from and why I think it should be used in situations like last night. Make it similar to a blood sub in rugby where you're not charged for it
