Is there a better WR1/WR2 combo than Brown and Smith in the league right now?

Is there a better WR1/WR2 combo than Brown and Smith in the league right now? The excitement is huge but let's wait and see lol. On paper Brown is the perfect complement to Smith though, and with Goedert and Quez Watkins as weapons as well... if the O-line stays healthy this year, Hurts won't have any excuses, he should flourish. Can't believe Brown is only 24 as well. And considering the money that was being thrown around for WRs this off season, think the contract is pretty solid as well. Oh Howie, just when I think I'm out...

If we come out of the draft now with a top receiver and a top OT, I’m fairly happy, especially if rumours are true and we get Tyrann Mathieu as well. Nailed it did have to trade up though lol, not quite to top 10 like I thought

did have to trade up though lol, not quite to top 10 like I thought Kind of why I liked us doing the trade when we did though, I was obviously worried we’d be suckered into going for a QB super early but I’m pretty happy with how it worked out. I think if we did the entire move on draft night it’d have cost us a lot more than it did the way it broke down, as we’d be telegraphing our move a lot more re: what player we wanted. In a way we were both right I guess, but honestly I’m over the moon with who we’ve ended up with, I think as soon as Wilson went we knew Olave and Williams weren’t far behind and we didn’t want to miss out so good stuff all round. I had Penning as a top 15 prospect too so that’s a result

Бенне FYI if the Saints do end up picking up Mathieu and you ever feel the need to call him out for - say - a busted coverage on Twitter I wouldn’t do it by name. He was famous in KC for regularly searching for himself and responding colourfully.

Just love Packers absolutely bantering the shit out of Aaron Rodgers by not taking a receiver in the first round yet again. Karlaftis and McDuffie both seemed to have high grades at their positions so pleased the Chiefs shored up some dire needs in the defensive side. Hopefully some good value WRs are available for round 2. Some trade and contract by the Eagles for Brown. Packers will get bantered for it but I think they did the right thing if the value wasn't there, I still don't support trading up for non-QBs. Does sound like the Chiefs got great value for their two 1st round picks unfortunately. I still don't understand how the Vikings got so fleeced to allow the Lions to move up 20 spots in the first round lmao, that trade is absolutely insane

I would be interested to see his fit with the Packers out of the gate as he is a raw prospect and Rodgers is notoriously hard on his receivers before they gain his trust. Apparently, no-one has had his raw athletic measurables at WR coming out since Megatron, though. In isolation I would probably view that opening round as fine but if you combine it with recent history of never drafting skill players in the first, not moving up in the first and being reluctant to splash out for free agents I think it’s fair to point fingers, especially as the need really was dire if Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb were at the top of the depth chart. It’s almost rigid to a fault at that point imo. As for whether or not their strategy has been working, if you consider the unbroken 30 years of Favre and Rodgers at QB they’ve had, I’d say three SB appearances and two wins is a modest return at best over that period. As for the Chiefs’ first two days Veach went heavy on athleticism and youth whilst not overreaching for anyone (which he’s had a habit of in the past) so I really can’t complain. Obviously no-one can be certain how any of these picks will pan out but the depth added, especially on defense, makes the Hill trade seem like good business for the moment.

Absolutely loving this draft from the Eagles. I know Dean slid because of injury concerns but I love the pick. Everyone highlighted Dickersons injury concerns last year as well. Between this and last years first couple rounds, the type of people they're picking is great as well, so easy to root for them.

I know Cos agrees with this, but I am absolutely convinced you could assemble a super team by just drafting anyone who’s fallen due to a “serious” injury, on the basis that yes one or two will never walk again but the other 9 will be stars
