just read that we can get any of the cl dropouts....wtf was the point in winning the group, watch us get juve The 4 best 3rd placed teams (Napoli, Shakhtar, Benfica and Basel) go in the same pot as the group winners, and the other 4 (Ajax, Juventus, Porto and Viktoria Plzen) go in with the runners up. Everyone bar Plzen is someone to be feared there imo, so ridiculous they get this second chance. edit: and that'll teach me to reply without going to the next page

Obvs want us to avoid the big ones for as long as possible (although an Ajax game would be class) but it would be a nice change to play Juve rather than Maribor or someone of that ilk who are a naff team but could still beat us if we didn't turn up. Plus if we beat Juve......

Tottenham vs Porto would be great, but, not at this stage. Needs to be in the Quaters minimum.

Can't believe PSV went out to two clubs that I've honestly never heard before. What happened there g7vikings?

Dutch clubs are shit, that's what happened. Chronically underwhelming in Europe.

Yeah PSV decided in the summer to let a lot if experienced players go and replace them with kids; going down the road that Feyenoord & Ajax are on. They started off very well, looking like an exciting team but after a few injuries and few harder games it's started to unravel. I think they're about 1 win in 12 at the minute, so it was no surprise. I told everyone to bet against them in work @ 4/1 but forgot myself cos it was 6pm ko.

I'll be honest, I'm not sure any of the teams we've played in the Europa League this year actually exist
