"You were simpler, you were lighter when we thought like little kids. Like a weightless, hate-less animal, beautifully oblivious before you were hid inside a stranger you grew into, as you learned to disconnect."
Jesus wept, Mr. Silberman please write a fucking book

It might be their best song. I'm struggling to find one that I personally enjoy more, other than maybe Kettering or Bear.
edit: How could I forget about French Exit. This band does have quite the array of gems.

Wake or Epilogue still takes it for me, greatest ending to an album ever. That moment at about 4 minutes in during Epilogue where the guitar comes in is so beautifully melancholic, I love it. Putting the Dog to Sleep also brilliant. I remember for ages I loved Hospice and couldn't really get into Burst Apart, I love both of them now though.

Completely forgot about Epilogue its been so long. Doesn't it use the same chord progression as Bear as well? Probably my favourite concept album, Hospice. In other news, COPE! @eric Kevin Keegan Zack.. Getting it's first of many, many, many playthroughs this summer. Trees and See It Again are fucking outstanding. See It Again has actually bamboozled me. Shit hot man. Choose You, Every Stone, Cope are excellent.. Girl Harbor & Top Notch are up there as well. The Mansion is a bit middle of the park but still a solid rock song & The Ocean I'm prepared to give time, it is already growing on me- would have thought it's going to be used a lot in shows. Likewise, Indentions & All I Really Wanted have potential, and would be bags of fun live. Think they've come so far from Mean Everything to Nothing. None of the songs on this album, much like Simple Math bar a couple, are the kind that I'd just skip over without a second thought. I can still count the number of times I've listed to tracks like "In My Teeth" and "My Friend Marcus" together on one hand. Still a few middle of the park, "easy" songs I guess, but to be honest sometimes that works for all out rock albums (like it has for KOL's Mechanical Bull). Overall I'm pretty damn content. Pumped as fuck to see em live. edit: Putting the album on random and the feels when See It Again comes on >>>>>

The outro of Wake is a gut wrencher. Gonna try and download Cope today and listen to it walking to work.

Simple Math I felt peaked a bit early and tailed off at the end, with this every song is in your face and Cope is a brilliant song to close on.They're playing a free acoustic set in Bristol on Monday and I'm working, so gutted, September can't come around soon enough! That Antlers song... just amazing. Might just have to listen to Hospice for a billionth time.

I'm torn on my feelings towards Cope. If anything, I think it's potentially their worst album to date, although I do think it's probably better than Simple Math which was a little hit and miss for me.
The songs on Cope are just all too similar though, they're all about the same length, all the exact same guitar tones and effects, could have done with maybe a slower one to freshen it up at some point. Lyrically, there's some really good stuff in there but some of the songs are simple and it isn't really showcasing the huge talent available to the band.
Despite the criticism though, I do really like the album, I just expected more from them I think.
Favourite tracks though are probably Every Stone, All I Really Wanted, See It Again, and Girl Harbor.
While I'm writing this though, I have a strong feeling this is going to end up as a grower and in about 2 weeks I'll be saying it's their best album yet.
