Steven I've been loving Death a whole lot lately, is there any other particular death metal bands from that era you'd recommend? I was thinking of checking out Morbid Angel next. Morbid Angel are class Altars Of Madness and Covenant are my favourite albums by them. Check out Obituary, Disincarnate, Bolt Thrower, Cancer, Paths of Possession and Benediction's early albums also Brutal Truth, Repulsion, Terrorizer and Extreme Noise Terror although they are more grindcore than death metal.

Listened to Royal Blood for the first time earlier, had been a bit put off because I'd noticed they'd been getting a lot of NME hype and that kinda puts me off already, they're not what I expected though, very QOTSA-y, this one really sounds like a QOTSA song.

Saw Neutral Milk Hotel on Wednesday. That was one off the bucket list, never thought I'd see them live.
Great, great show.

Start at 3:12 or whenever the first song is finished. Sobering performance if ever there was one.

For you lads who are into Burial, STRONGLY recommend watching this gem of a video created by Ben Dawkins for the song. Perfect.

If anyone can be bothered to give this a try, a mate of mine from Glasgow is in a band and they released their first album last summer. I just stumbled upon their link again and they're still streaming it for free on this website if anyone wants to give it a listen scarletshift.bandcamp.com/

I had only listened to that too, but still loved it.
