I've never had goat, is it similar to any of the other meats you'd get in a curry like lamb or something? Just to get you in the groove of cooking it (surely it's the curry that really matters in that meal anyways?) I'm in a good routine for once. Started a proper training program as well and finding I actually undereat when I'm cooking for myself and eating well. Need to find another 400 calories and a lot more protein from somewhere - looking at protein-heavy veggie recipes at the minute as what I usually cook doesn't seem to have too much. Speaking of curry - this is by far my favourite thing to cook and it's so so easy: meerasodha.com/kale-and-chickpea-curry/I tend to swap out the kale for spinach and I add in a few cubed baby potatoes as well. Also when it says to add "2cm of water" I just add about 250ml of veggie stock. Become very liberal with the spices too. It's one of those that is lovely when you first have it but if you portion some out and leave in the fridge for lunches, the flavours really come out a day or two later as well.

It’s quite similar to lamb, but a bit gamier. It’s a really powerful flavour and you use it really to flavour the curry, rather than the other way around. I think the best curry goat is a really dry curry, more so coated meat rather than semi submerged within a liquid. I’m probably going to end up trying it with lamb.
I only started eating veggies last year and I’m still discovering what I do and don’t like as well so I’m thinking of getting some veggie soups and curries going because that’s the kind of stuff I really enjoy.
As for the goat anyway it’s getting more popular so I think within a year or so it will be available more widely, just gotta wait until then or until I find a butcher that has it.

You only started eating vegetables in your 20's? There's a 26 year old woman at my work who won't eat any fruit or vegetables. Won't even try them, if anything green is in her food she pulls a face like a child and discards it. Don't know how anyone can live like that, she should have scurvy by now.

There's a bloke frequently on the guardian football podcast who says he's never eaten fruit or veg.
I only eat a minimal amount tbh. Forcing myself to eat more

Grown adults who can't handle mushrooms or tomatoes are always a big red flag.

I don't eat any veg either with the exception of Potatoes (which are more of a starch) and I've cut them out as of late. I kinda wish i could but I feel lifes too short to be force feeding myself stuff I don't enjoy.
Do eat lots of fruit though.

Any vegetarians or people who have tried meat alternatives? I don’t eat beef anymore and Quorn mince does the job in bolognese, lasagne and chilli but I haven’t really ventured outside of that.

Vivera do loads of plant based stuff, their shredded pulled veggies make for an insane kebab/burrito style dinner
The vegan butchers which I think might be in tesco is great for mushroom sausages
Jackfruit burgers from sainsburys are 10/10.
Your best bet is just to get a slab of tofoo (brand) and fuck around but it's all about sauces/spices to replace juiciness/flavour of meat imo.

I switch to Quorn mince now and again just to cut down on the red meat I eat and with a good sauce it's fine.
The Quorn chicken nuggets are brilliant.

The jackfruit pizza from Aldi is top notch, I know that. 👌 Vegan as well, I believe.
I'm trying to find a decent alternative to beef mainly, Quorn doesn't do it for me. Quorn chicken is alright but chicken is lean and cheap enough anyway lol.

I'll give it a go if it's reasonably priced! Might try supermarket brand meat free mince as well.
