Dreadful decision to chase, for all the hype coming in this team have fallen apart everytime they've had to chase.

There has to be someone, somewhere (who isn't a cokehead) better than James bloody Vince. I would take a coked up Alex Hales or a 1 legged Jason Roy over Vince tbh. Even from the start I thought they should have gone with Ben Foakes in the squad instead of Vince. Type of player that can come in the middle of a collapse and steady things.

Dreadful decision to chase, for all the hype coming in this team have fallen apart everytime they've had to chase. The toss may become the most important part of every game from now on. Won every game we've opened, lost every game we've chased. After today I really fancy us against a flagging NZ side.

Aye - Although I'm not sure how much I trust our bowlers at trying to defend a low target, I trust our batters more to actually set a big score.
Fancy we'll do New Zealand now. Hilarious to see Twitter descend into accusations of India chucking the game at the end because they wanted to stuff one up Pakistan.

That game was ridiculous! Not a bad first ODI to watch.

In absolute pieces there, what a game.
Few better finishes in any world cup final surely, to lose it on a technicality on most boundaries

Cricket, man...
Over the moon to win it obviously but feels somewhat hollow to me to win it on such a strange and unheard of rule. We tied, then tied again, then won on most boundaries when wickets are rarer and we lost more. Bizarre, but it only matters losing to such a loveable team. If that was against India I'd be laughing myself to death.
No one deserved to lose that at all, but Ben Stokes deserved to win that on his own, absolutely unreal heart on display.

I don't think any match of any sport in recorded history can touch that. It was insane. Just utterly insane. My heart goes out for NZ, they played phenomenally but England just never gave up and when you play like that sometimes luck falls your way. For 7 weeks of brilliant cricket to come down to what it did is insane, and I'm just glad we landed on the right side of it.

Especially after being tonked around at the end of the T20 world final years ago, sweet sweet redemption. Half expected them to bring Roy back out but Stokes/Buttler was definitely the right call. Honestly, our press would have absolutely hounded someone today if we didn't win it which is a shame because it's a game where you can truly say nobody deserved to lose. I'd honestly have settled it as a tie after all that - if it's good enough for tests it's good enough for this. Was following the chase on my phone whilst at a family bbq - went inside to watch the last few overs and ended up in there for nearly an hour - slowly joined by a room full of non-watchers who still cheered when Buttler whipped the bails off at the end. What a fucking day.

Just watching the highlights, fucking hell those last 3 balls when they could have won it with a six
Not to fuck up the fielding on those two
Archer to absolutely nail his deliveries.
Fucking hell.
