They turned it to shit then? It was good at first but then I realised after a few weeks that at 32 I just can’t be arsed with football games anymore and sold it for near enough what I paid for it. Someone remind me next September that I’m too old for football games and not to buy FIFA or PES. I played so many games in 2019 and made the switch from console gaming to PC gaming. Jedi Fallen Order was probably my game of 2019, closely followed by Resident Evil 2 although I’m pretty sure Sekiro will overtake both of them once I finish that, think I’m about 3/4’s through. I’ve got DMC5 as well that I haven’t even started yet. Been playing a lot of games with Stu over Christmas and New Year, either from the free epic store games or using Xbox Game Pass on PC. I think we’ve played Hello Neighbor, Age of Empires and Sea of Thieves lately.

Got Death Stranding for Christmas which after a slow start has got me hooked. Worried it was a walking simulator to begin with but it quickly expands into quite a tactical game.
Also got the Medievil remaster which is all for nostalgia reasons but a great game still.
Is Jedi Fallen Order good?

Really good although they’ve improved it a lot, this is on PC not sure how it’s changed on console. I got frustrated with it at one point because the combat wasn’t very tight, I’d feel like I was doing something and it wasn’t working. Then I went and started Sekiro, could immediately feel the difference in combat, everything is just tight and when you die you know you mistimed something. Waited for a few patches then went back to JFO, everything felt smoother and the combat much better. The story is great too.
When I read it’s like a cross between a dark souls game and Uncharted I was thinking fuck right off but it genuinely is like those games.
I meant to mention the 2 best games I’ve played in 2019, not necessarily released in 2019 are God of War and Nioh.

God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn my top PS4 games along with Dying Light which was an unexpected surprise.
Would probably get JFO on PC when it’s reduced in price a bit.
This year all about Cyberpunk and the Final Fantasy 7 remake.

I'm playing Jedi Fallen Order on PS4 and it's very glitchy at times and quite frustrating. They've got the bones of a really great game but it's doing things like Uncharted, Horizon Zero Dawn etc., but just not as well. One of the most frustrating aspects of it for me is it pretends to be a bit open world-y but when you finish a mission and have to head back to the ship, if you take a wrong turn there's no prompt or anything about what direction to take, so you can end up wandering for ages (this may also be because I'm a bit thick). I've also found because of the open world aspect, it's like the game thinks I've done parts that I haven't actually come to in the story, so I've gotten some character interactions which make zero sense (I didn't follow the main story missions directly, I explored the available planets a bit first). Like I had a rebel fighter on Kashyyyk ask me if her husband was dead and my character said yeah even though I hadn't come across any of that info yet. This doesn't really effect gameplay or anything but little things like this frustrate me because I get that game dev is pretty detailed and tough to get right, but then I think about games that do get those little things right and with EA/Lucasfilm behind you, surely that sorta thing shouldn't be missed (though I think it was Respawn that did most of the work on it?) I also think they really missed a trick by making all the lightsaber customisations completely aesthetic. It's a pretty basic tenet of these types of games that upgrades/changes to your weaponry or clothing impacts combat, so collecting different handles and things for the lightsaber just feels kinda pointless for me (I'm not someone who needs 100% on all aspects of the game). Only thing I want is a different colour from blue and green so hopefully that pops up. I also think not having any stealth parts of the game was absolutely idiotic, especially with the initial premise being he's a Force user in hiding. Agreed on the combat not being tight, they haven't updated anything with that on PS4 as far as I know ChappyHova, but I'm still really enjoying it in spite of the gripes I have with it. The story is very good (I've just left Kashyyyk for the second time after flying about on that massive bird).

notpropaganda that sucks if they haven’t fixed it, there have been definite improvements on PC. The time I got pissed off when I stopped playing it was fighting against Rabid Jotaz, I couldn’t do anything because it wouldn’t respond properly.

Ha the only time I got pissed off and quit was literally not being able to find my way back to the ship for nearly an hour. I'm not proud to admit I even stuck at it that long ffs

Nah it was after completing the second tomb on Zeffo, there was a bit where you're meant to grab a rope, jump onto one of those air vent thingys and then zipline up. I didn't spot the zipline so just assumed I needed an ability I didn't have yet for that bit and proceeded to just wander around the level for ages fighting guys I'd already killed

Still hammering last year's pes over actual games like RDR2, Fallout etc, but I've just gone and ordered PES6 for 98p on eBay and plan to dust off the old PS2 silver slimeline when it arrives. Nostalgia is a helluva drug man
