Clyne won't get a call up until he wins his place back from the England U19 captain.

Krul's been dropped from the Dutch side. Never seen Zoet or Cillessen play (they any good g7vikings?) but I'd certainly rate him better than Vorm who's still in there. In fact so much of that Dutch side looks incredibly inexperienced.

Yeah, I like Zoet a lot. They're all similar keepers in truth, the 3 of them. Pro active, sweeper keepers, good with the ball. Can see he's gone for a style that I'd suggest Krul doesn't fit in with?

yeah Krul kicking is a sight that none of us like to see, so if Van Gaal wants to play that way then fair enough. at least it's not Stekelenberg in there ahead of him

i was going to say i think stekelenberg might be one of the biggest declines of a player so quickly but then i remembered julio cesar is still contracted to qpr

they're the last friendlies before the end of the season though, of course there's something to be read into them. and it's all relative anyway
torres and mata have been left out of the spain squad yeah? i'd actually suggest there is something to be read in that

I really don't think I'd have any of them over who's in the squad tbh, at least not right now
And the only relatively untested players in the Spain squad are Thiago (who's brilliant), Costa (who's ridiculously brilliant) and Azpilicueta
I get what you mean though, I wish we'd done that rather than bring up Jermain Defuckingfoe again. Also what does Barry have to do to get a callup, been excellent for Everton this year

Or it could be that many of those players aren't exactly having brilliant seasons?

Torres hasnt been great. Negredo and Costa would definitely be ahead of him. Mata has only just recently started to play regularly again after being on the sidelines for six months De Gea - He's 4th choice anyway behind Casillas, Valdes and Reina Isco cant get into the Real Madrid team. Villa getting old Llorente, in the games I've seen him play for Juventus, I haven't been too impressed. He does seem to miss a lot of easy chances with his feet. Brilliant with his head however.

If any of those 3 are in over Henderson it's a joke. It's not like he can't also keep the ball.
And as stated, there's explanations for every one of those players.

Llorente has been very good for Juve lately. Don't spoof

Henderson has been so much better than Carrick, Lampard and Barry this season, I don't even know why you would suggest any of them should be there ahead of him. Well I do really.
We all hate stats but a player with 87% passing accuracy, 6 assists averaging 55 passes a game isn't just a runner. Well, he runs games like.
Henderson: 27 games, 87% pass accuracy, 44 tackles won, 3 goals, 6 assists Lampard: 21 games, 82% pass accuracy, 29 tackles won, 5 goals, 3 assists Carrick: 19 games, 88% pass accuracy, 27 tackles won, 1 goal, 0 assists Barry: 21 games, 86% pass accuracy, 46 tackles won, 3 goals, 3 assists
Doesn't take into account the extra pressure Henderson puts defenders under to cause mistakes and leads to Liverpool gaining position. Look how unworthy he is!

As much as I've grown to realise Cleverley's development has stalled badly and he's not good enough for United or England he might not be bad in games you need to keep the ball. He's boring and he rarely goes for a killer ball but the reason he has the highest pass completion of any of the England midfielders is he keeps the ball. Henderson's a better player, no doubt about that any more but against a top team who will punish you if you give it away the boring, safe choice might be the best.
Then again, I'm sure that's why Barry played against Germany four years ago and it was a disaster.

Would Gerrard holding work against a team like Brazil, Spain, Germany? Genuine question as I don't watch much of him any more. Get the feeling we'd need someone mobile who can get about and help the defence, disrupt the play.
