lol he tackled him and kicked out a tiny bit, never a free kick. Nor is that a penalty.

you mean the one where Skrtle kicks out at Shelvey for no reason? Shocking decision! I'm glad someone has got some common sense in this forum Stu.

I'm surprised if Rodgers hasn't had a word with Skrtel before about his shirt grabbing, it was soft and his reputation probably preceded him but tbh it's probably been coming.

Tbf players have been through worse and still performed better than he has. He's shit and should be recognised as such. Didn't dispute that, but it certainly won't have helped him. Seasons getting worse and worse every game. It's not a case of a lack of ability. Anybody claiming so, is fucking stupid. It's psychological. To go from 25 goals a season to missing open goals from 3 yards is not a drastic loss of ability, it's something far more mental than that. It's as if he was starved of service early on and snatched every solitary chance he managed to get. Since then, he's got more chances and continued to snatch at them. Everyone he's tried to smash it, that's not his game. His goal vs Villa is a typical Soldado goal. Defoe-like hit and hopes aren't. Sitters nobody should be missing. Not even hitting the target. It's bizarre. It's incredibly frustrating given he's improved his link up play by a country mile. Almost Berbatov like with the little flicks and through balls. If he does find his Valencia form, he'll be a threat, but the longer he goes without goals and the longer he's kept out of the team (case for him to be included as well as not), the worse it will get. Start him on Thursday with Adebayor and then again vs Cardiff. You don't get better sitting on the bench.

Heard a brilliant stat on the radio earlier about Norwich, apparently Van Wolfswinkel and Elmander have only had six shots (not sure if it's on target or in general) all season.

I'd say your psychological make up is a massive part of your ability though. Sturridge cost us the game against Arsenal last time, didn't get beaten up by it and went out and scored two today. If you run through a bad bit of form you can't use that as an excuse to just sink into absolute mediocrity, the best strikers don't let that happen. Could be down to manager as well, or the people around him. Torres for us was always praised by Benitez because he knew he was a bit sensitive and struggled under criticism. Once Benitez went he struggled a lot.
I just don't think Soldado will survive Spurs. I think he'll be gone by next summer. He doesn't have the mentality himself, he doesn't have the people around him and he doesn't have the stability in terms of manager like he had with Emery.

I don't think he has any issues in regard to what he can do with a football at his feet, but he does seem extremely fragile mentally. Sherwood's not going to help him, simply hasn't got the influence to help him. Soldado needs someone with real influence. I want Soldado to stay, but for the sake of his career, I would not blame him for leaving. He's missing a world cup because of this season, when he was almost guaranteed a spot prior to the season.

That was a fantastic intervention from Williamson just then. Villa would have definitely scored had he not put the tackle in.

I'ma sound like a right facetious arsehole but goals like Rosicky's and Wilshere's against Norwich are probably part of the reason why we can fill 60k seats every game with the highest ticket prices in the league even though we've not won a trophy in years.
