Reason i asked is 'cause I was ridiculed for saying the same thing for Chelsea last season in the old forum by quite a few members.
I guess it's a different story for Chelsea.

For me, 4th (not even asking me but I was about to post lul).
Europa League is the same as the Capital One. It's the competition you always say you're not arsed about until you reach the quarters and get knocked out when you're certain you're gonna win it. 09/10 was a disaster of a season for us and the Europa League would've been the saviour for Rafa I reckon, but we had Diego Forlan having the season of his life to deal with.

Its probably different for you for Liverpools history though if you compare trophies won, even if we've won the UEFA Cup twice already
For Liverpool it'd just be another pot to rest them European Cups on, we've won 2 trophies in 23 long years now so it'd be different for me
Unless.we finished 4th and went.on to win the Champions League of course, I'd take that

^ Sherwood basically followed up his comments on Saturday in today's presser. Don't think he said anything wrong imo, players deserve it. I love Vertonghen, but he's looks disinterested in a lot of games. Sherwood's actually grown on me. Rather him be honest than a cliche ridden soundbite toting mong.
Fluked? You'd have thought that the amount of times we've signed good young players and then had them pinched off us would prove it's a little more than fluke. It's good scouting.
We did the best we could last summer. We had no champions league. Who was available that was realistic and better than those we signed? Nobody could forecast Lamela being left out by AVB and then getting injured the minute Sherwood comes in. Or Soldado forgetting what he's good at. Only glaring emission is a left back, and we did try for Coentrao by the sounds of it. Said it last summer, but we should have tried to shoehorn Jese into the Bale deal.
I'd take a trophy over 4th every day of the week ftr. A cup win or effectively a Champions League qualifier which depending on the draw, you could get knocked out in?

Sherwood has nothing to lose except maybe a lucrative job at Fulham next year so he's going to say whatever he likes
This is going to be an ugly few months

Somebody needed to say it but I don't think that somebody is our manager. Depends how the players react to it.
Can't remember a time when watching spurs has been quite as boring as this season. Gone are the days when we'd put 9 past Wigan because we could. Now we'd get it to 1-0 and just coast until everyone in the stadium is half asleep and wondering what exactly they've just paid £50 for cos it wasn't entertainment or even really a sport cos it's clear as hell that nobody out there is competing to the best of their ability.

Chelsea have cancelled their pre-season tour of the USA. Would love it if they toured this country playing at random non-league teams including a couple here in Cornwall
It's been about 20 years since an Premier League team played in Cornwall. Aston Villa in about 1993-94.

Aye it'd be very nice of them to do that but they won't. All of the top 6 will spend the summer in either the States or SE Asia (or both if they can manage it) cos they're the next big overseas markets and Falmouth, as nice as it is, just doesn't have the same market pull as, say, all of China.

Isn't there some big tournament planned in the States featuring a bunch of European sides? There is.
Man Utd, Man City and Liverpool the English teams involved.

Sandro and Walker are out for Sunday's game.
I think we have 3 fit senior defenders now.
