There's obviously a reason thats the case when he's fine for us. Think they'd try to sort it. Though its all hearsay because tbh noone knows how "cancerous" he is just like no one knows how much theyve tried to resolve the issues. It is not hearsay, he was outwardly demonstrated what a twat he is numerous times, including after he was left out of the squad.

I'd be surprised if Paul Pogba didn't win the World Cup.

Bit of a drop off from Ribery to Cabella there...France should still walk the group given the opposition but I wouldn't be shocked if Ecuador made it problematic.

And Grenier too. Remy Cabella and Morgan Schneiderlin called up to replace them.
So that's one of our transfer targets injured and another sure to have am amazing World Cup and not want to come. Hard to see France progressing beyond the quarters, when they'll probably play their first really top class team.

Didn't realise Grenier was out. I was looking forward to seeing him. Can remember thinking he looked the absolute deal at one of those under-19 world cups/euro championships years ago.

Griezmann more or less guaranteed starter now. Ribery missing is one of those things though that could work in their favour, bit like if Rooney was out for England. I've heard he tries to act the hero too often for France, questionable in the dressing room (bullying of Gourcuff) and he hasn't played that well this year or had a run of fitness where he's shown the form of last season. Griezmann scored on his debut and is a great option to have, Valbuena on the other wing then Giroud or Benzema up front.
I think the French have a very good chance, the midfield is really balanced with Pogba, Cabaye and Matuidi all interchangeable. Have some really talented young centre-backs, Lloris in goal.

They're very solid and I love that midfield but I can definitely see where they could struggle to find goals with that lineup...they're definitely a tick below the main contenders without Ribery.

It depends what Benzema shows up, a bit like Rooney too in that he's been a letdown at major tournaments, yet to score a goal for France in them iirc.

I don't remember him as awful at the last Euros but you're right, I don't think that he has scored for France in a major tournament...I still rate him on the whole but he does have a worrying tendency to get all sulky and French sometimes and I really wonder if he has it in him to lead the line. Pogba is going to need to do a lot of his arriving late in the box act if France is going to score enough unless Griezmann really shines in my opinion.

Losing Ribery is obviously a huge blow but I think France have the depth required in order to sufficiently replace him. It doesn't really impact their chances of progressing beyond the first two rounds, his loss will be felt from the quarters onward or whenever they face their first big test.
