Of course they are. I also hate yardage. I dunno why it does my head in when yards are used as a sign of a QB being great. Brett Favre threw for over 70,000 yards but also threw well over 300 interceptions.

while on the whole i probably agree, surely you've got to take into account performance in high-profile games somewhere along the line? 8-10 in the play-offs. he probably authored the greatest season ever by most accounts but that can't equal greatest ever. not to mention it's difficult for any of us to say really
i'd say brady anyway, but rodgers will be top 3 by the end of his career imo

Rings is such an American thing I think.
Never understood why they compare individuals in a team sport by team achievements.
That's the American way though, you've either got to be clutch or a bottle job. Everything is so extreme and dramatic with them lol.

You say that like you don't have loads of English people saying Giggs 13 Gerrard 0. But they're mongs and I agree, Peyton didn't do anything for his second ring and there have been examples in the past of defenses or other offensive players winning championships.
I think America puts too much emphasis on their quarterbacks, point guards etc. Everyone wants to be a quarterback.

That's honestly the first time I've ever heard Giggs 13 Gerrard 0 and I hope to never hear it again.
I've heard it with Lampard and Gerrard from Mike but that's Mike it's to be expected, don't hear it even a quarter as much as I do from briefly looking on Twitter during Superbowl.
It's also like when people said the 2nd 2011 draft pick beat the 1st, I was thinking technically yes because the Broncos won but Cam wasn't Miller's matchup, Remmers was.

Look how far apart the dates are though. Now put "lebron jordan rings".

Lebron 2-4 in the Finals.
I know how it goes. Argued with so many Kobe homers who think Kobe having 5 rings (carried by Shaq for 3 of them) makes him the better player.
You've made me realise I hate my favourite sports.

tbh having watched relatively little american football in my life, Aaron Rodgers is by far the greatest and Peyton Manning doesn't even come top 10.
But that's because American Football was invented in 2013 for me and I thought Dan Marino was some fella out of Ace Ventura.

I think my first season watching properly Peyton smashed all seasonal records at Denver.
I'd watched NFL before that and played Madden but couldn't say I was properly into it and trying to understand it.

Having never watched Marino it's hard for me to properly argue for him but that 1984 season was almost definitely the greatest single season ever when you compare the mentalities of the time and the closest competition to him.
