omfg yes I'm so glad someone else noticed, had the same thing at the Bernabeu and I just think it's fucking mental, this bloke was literally just crunching away for an hour and chucking the fuckers on the floor. My overriding memory of all the Spanish grounds I went to. The first one I thought there was just some nutter being a cunt and making a mess. Second game I realised it was a thing.

Never understood the Spaniards obsession with them, that and no drink in the grounds. that was the icing on the cake during the cl final, there's heineken adverts everywhere but all you could drink was pepsi or 0% beer, sobering up during that was just not fair at all

Was at Tottenham v Newcastle today. What a stadium. Love it. Wasn't prepared for the amount of Asians though. Son getting cheered twice as loud as anyone else and the club shop having more of his shirt than Kane's is a pretty bleak sign for the purists. Atmosphere wasnt the greatest what with Newcastle going ahead then frustrating Spurs. I was above the Newcastle fans so wasn't all bad. Can tell though the one time WTSGMI got going the atmosphere in there could be incredible. Losing was what Spurs deserved for leaving the main man Lo Celso on the bench.
A faf to get away from after the game with the staff not helping by shouting out wrong directions to thousands of people.

too many asians = a bleak sign for the purists 😳 or tourists in general been a pretty shit atmosphere at both games tbh although i did lose my voice for a day or two after villa- didn't recongise many people around me on saturday which i fear will be the norm for most non-derby games or games against the top 6 in general you stand up for longer than 5 seconds and some 16 year old kid in a high vis comes out threatening to take down your seat row and number, threatening to chuck you out.. it's a quick atmosphere killer because people end up not standing up or just going to drink down in the bar

Fucking pain to copy and paste with this coding messing up (serves me right for trying to do something fancy); Etihad (Manchester City vs Manchester United WSL) Honestly was a bit disappointed with it - it's such a corporate, bland, boring, efficient-but-characterless bowl. Aesthetically I was impressed with how they've shoe-horned an extra tier in one one side and if they do the same on the other it'll look a lot better. But yeah, not all that. Stamford Bridge (Chelsea vs Tottenham WSL) This was much better. Have a soft spot for a proper four-sided English stadium and once inside this was much better. Actually quite modern and clean inside (opposite to the Etihad). 45 minutes of Chelsea/Spurs chants and those fucking clappers was enough though and we binned it off early to get to Meadow Park for Arsenal's opening game of the season. The new North Bank looks good - just a shame Borehamwood are run by an absolute cretin who'll likely fold the club in the near future.

Ticked three more off in the last week including one that I've been desperate to see for a while. Wanda Metropolitano - Atletico 0-0 Celta Vigo Weird stadium - it's a bit like Wembley was when it first opened. It's all a bit corporate and bland and yet I was impressed with the scale of it all. Fans were alright, they love Trippier already, Felix was disappointingly quiet and Morata is the biggest fucking donkey I've seen live. Coliseum Alfonso Perez - Getafe 4 - 2 Real Mallorca Really enjoyed this one - stadium was empty until 2 minutes before kick off and it turns out that's because the food/drink options inside the ground are literally a shelf with some cheetos on it and some costco multipacks. The game itself was infuriating - Getafe are a proper set of shithouses and I think I saw on GOL later on in the evening that the ball was in play for less than 44 minutes in total. Mestalla - Valencia 3 - 3 Getafe The absolute highlight for me - what a fucking stadium. Literally tucked into the city and it's fucking massive and imposing from all-sides, you really get a sense of how steep the tiers are. It looks stunning with the recent black/orange refresh and the atmosphere is unreal when it gets going.

Don’t ever think I’ll ever get the chance to visit now (they’re building the new one in case anyone didn’t know) but what a stadium. Obviously they’ve got to do it but that, San Mames and the Vicente Calderon going within a decade is sad
