Yeah I've seen both. He looks absolutely dreadful, he'll hopefully have improved since it was shot but he's on for an absolute stomping. Fair fucks to the guy though.

Had a mate share a short clip of him being punched and kicked in the face repeatedly and taking the piss so I checked them out, then got to the one where he was in a proper spar and ended up tapping out like 3 times in a minute.
Really do think he's gonna get a pasting inside the first minute, no matter how good his chin may be just take him down by the legs and you've got him.

Yeah, it wont be an Aldo-McGregor ding him once and he's gone - will be proper technical and methodical pounding on the ground. Gall will want to show the full arsenal of skills you just dont learn in one camp as a bashed up 37 year old. Mongs like Amir Khan will hopefully get the message.

Yeah but bare in mind Gall has had 2 pro fights, and is fighting out a bum fuck nobody camp. The actual fight will not be as hard as any of the training fights Punk's doing. He's still an underdog, but if he can work on his grappling and can keep the fight standing he has a decent chance at going for a decision win.

Maia is legit the best welterweight in the world in MMA. The dude is fucking retarded levels above everyone else in terms of grappling. Taken a total of like 38 strikes in his last 3 fights. Dominated Magney, dominated Matt Brown, and now submitted Condit (who a lot of people think beat Lawler in their title fight) in less than 3 minutes. Only person giving him trouble is GSP, and that's if (and a big if) he can use his wrestling to keep the fight standing. If Maia got him to the ground then good fucking luck bro.

Tbf that documentary is set over a year ago and is somewhat staged in a way to show his progression and tell a narrative - I'm sure he was legit getting tapped out in camps regularly but if that was the stage he was at now, they wouldn't be showing that in the documentary, its showing that UFC is tough and as a rookie he was way behind the standard and I assume the rest of the documentary will go on to show the point where he suddenly starts to 'get it' and starts winning sparring sessions etc.
Quite a few UFC stars have come out publicly and said they think he'll do ok.

Mickey Gall comes across as a proper fuckboi, so I'm firmly on team Punk.

And that puts an end to that.
Keep amateurs out of the octagon. Hopefully that's the quickest one and done career in UFC history, he's no business being there.

As a Punk fan, gutted it went so badly for him but he was clearly way out of his depth and that's after 2 years of training, end of the day, anyone credible he's gonna come up against is gonna have 10+ years of training and be from a martial arts/college wrestling background and simply have both the natural skills that Punk doesn't have and the learned skills that take more than a few camps to pick up.
Got to live out his dream though, can't fault him for that, generally looked in all his glory until the fight actually started. He says he wants to fight again, not really sure he should do, unless he fights another gimmick opponent he's not really got much chance, and if he starts fighting gimmick opponents then it becomes a sideshow rather than what he actually wanted which was to become a respected MMA fighter.
Don't see him coming back to wrestling though, certainly not WWE. It's normally talent who burn bridges with the WWE but I actually think they burnt their bridges with him too badly for him to consider going back. Interested to see what he does next.
