www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-47170711?I'm really surprised that members of the UK cabinet are leaking this kind of stuff. I really feel this is the wrong way for a border poll to come about. I don't think people have really thought about what a United Ireland would look like and I don't think it essentially coming down to a poll about EU membership would be beneficial in the long run for the country.

I'm not. As feasible as I think it actually is, this is very much being used to scaremonger those who may be wavering. The Scottish question has just been ignored completely with a like it or lump it approach, but they know they won't be able to make the Irish problem just go away. Honestly don't know where we're going, I just really hope there's not a no deal Brexit because the vulnerable ones currently begging for it will be the worst affected and they don't even realise it.

I'm not surprised in the slightest. It's the only way Brexit "works". It's been clear for months that Brexit and the Good Friday agreement are not compatible with each other. One has to give.

The Labour party it astoundingly incompetent. Arguing that the PM is wasting time and running down the clock to force a "My Deal or No Deal" vote but their amendment to todays motion provided nothing more than a request for todays vote to happen again on 27th of Feb.

A group of MPs are set to split from Labour today. Strengthening the current Tory Governments position and guaranteeing Tory Governments for generations to come.

In classic Labour fashion they have all given speeches on what they stand against but there was not a single comment about what they stand for.

Tbh, I think part of the reason for the current quagmire in parliament is that the groups trying to be held together by the two main parties really don’t make sense as a whole any more so if this gets the ball rolling on some sort of realignment that makes more sense today, even if it’s more splintered, I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing. Beyond the EU can’t see myself finding much in common with this lot, though.

Honestly I’d rather Labour stood for what it has done traditionally rather than what those 7 and countless others do. We might never win another election in my lifetime but at least we didn’t sell our souls just for the chance of it.

Really do feel the anti-Semitism problem is being massively over-publicised, particularly compared to the Islamophobia in other parties.
It's almost as if it's been repeated so often that people take it as gospel without seeing the evidence for it.
Not denying there aren't some mentalists on twitter who United behind the Corbyn movement, but calling them an anti-Semitic party for it?

Disagree that it's been over-publicised, I'd rather contend that Islamophobia etc in other parties is under-publicised. It's entirely anecdotal but IMO there's absolutely been a shift in the past few years on CLP pages and other Labour groups where anti-Israel sentiment has morphed into a more generally antisemitic discourse, anytime the issue is brought up people seem to start ranting about Zionists. Obviously I think the labelling of Labour as an antisemitic party is wrong but it's hard not to argue that the NEC have fucked up the handling of antisemitism issues, they should've been stricter and more transparent on the issue from the get-go and the leadership in general should've steered away from putting the likes of Willsman, Walker and Williamson anywhere near the public eye.

I still think it's been over-publicised relative to the level of actual racism there's been. A lot of anti-Israel/pro-Palestine arguments have been lumped in with the anti-semitic trolls hiding on Twitter and Facebook - Look at the reaction to attempts to de-select Luciana Berger and how it was not even considered that there could be anything to it other than her religion. Or Rachel Riley's odd crusade. I don't see the CLP pages or stuff on Facebook as I tend to stay away from party political stuff where possible (tbf if I unfollowed Owen Jones I'd likely see nothing about politics on my timeline) so it may be far more prevalent there than I realise. Either way, you've got Tory MP's saying the N word, ministers saying Muslim women in Burka's look like letterboxes, and even today one of these Labour MP's leaving because of the racism in her party speaking on TV about people who are "black, or have a funny tinge", all seemingly being glossed over in comparison.

3 Tories, including Soubry, have joined TIG. Gonna be hard for the former Labour MPs to drop the 'red Tory' label now there are actual Tories involved.
