An election fought along pro v anti no deal lines is looking increasingly inevitable. Honestly I’m terrified as a Tory-Brexit Party-DUP government is definitely possible but I can’t see how the other side could stitch together a stable coalition even if they get over half the MPs (a majority for any one party has to be very unlikely). Why would there be an election? Boris is storming to the Tory leadership and will have enough support to do what he wants. Even if he didnt have support of his party he can sit on his arse until October and no-deal Brexit happens because Labour have failed to vote against it time and time again.

He has the same hung parliament to deal with that Theresa May did and will have alienated at least as many MPs on the Remain side as May did. Suggestions of proroguing parliament are imo billy big bollocks talk by the various candidates trying to out-alpha each other in front the Tory membership but the reality is the sort of “managed” No Deal being bandied about requires an immense amount of legislation to maintain even the most basic shell of a functioning state after exiting the EU. Legislation requires parliament and parliamentary numbers 🤷♂️. Any PM who took the country out on No Deal without adequate prep would be gone in record time.

I mean yeah he's still a Tory. He's just not Johnson or Hunt or Gove. Personally I'm just impressed he isn't the Toriest of Tories considering he might have the most privileged upbringing in the UK outside of the royals.

Honestly when you see who it is pushing Boris (Cleverly, Patel, Dorries) and which media establishments are behind him (Guido, Times) and then the company he keeps (Bannon), it's just horribly depressing.
The various reads about his time at the Foreign Office should be evidence enough that he should never be anywhere near an important decision making post again. Let alone one that requires good diplomacy skills.

The problem with a free media is that it's really easy to buy.

The problem with Johnson isn't just him, it's the fact that he is going to win the leadership with such ease and that evidently everyone in the Conservative Party doesn't care about the thousands of reasons he shouldn't even be in public office, never mind Downing Street.

All the leadership candidates seem to not realise the Toroes are in power. They're all acting as though Corbyn is in power and they're vying to displace him rather than leading a party that's already been in charge for 9 years now. Promising to improve things that the Tories have systematically dismantled for a decade and that they've voted for.

To be fair they’ve been blaming Labour for the mess for the entirety of that time period and it’s been largely swallowed up so you can understand the misunderstanding

Also appears likely that Stewart's success could actually lead to Boris being coronated tomorrow without as much as a peep from him in the debates or hustings, or even a membership vote.
That's definitely what his team are pushing to wavering MP's.
