the first is just kinda bland, there's some decent moments (the pod race in particular) but it's really just kinda forgettable. maul & qui-gon were the best parts & should've stayed for the second. not a bad movie but not really that much of a good one
the second suffers from trying too much to please the fans they pissed off with one and in doing so makes a worse movie - yoda's fight scene's the worst thing this series has ever done and i've seen the christmas special
the third is a genuinely interesting movie, it's entertaining, surprisingly sombre & the overly choreographed fight scenes actually make sense. i think it's a good movie but that's because i've watched it thirty/forty times
they're not the most disasterous series of movies ever (i've seen a lot, lot worse, i'd say the amazing spider-man movies or the transformers are worse uses of properties), they're just kind of a mess. really, really excited for 7
