yeah i can imagine tbf
got to a point during the espn broadcast that bt were showing during that break in the 7th where one of the commentators, an ex-Blue Jay, essentially said people throwing things on the field were most likely new fans who didn't realise how in the way it is to do that

Mate two months ago there were less than 10k at the matches, you could get a ticket for about $14 a few innings into the games.
I love this city but they're all a fan of the bandwagon. Same with the Raptors, and it will be the same with TFC now they made the playoffs. They only really give a shit about the Maple Leafs, which is funny because it's the worst franchise in the city

Haha yeah I was perplexed when I saw some of the ALDS tix going for upwards of $500, even more when they were selling out within hours of going on sale
Do the prices generally go up through the season the higher the game's stakes are then?
Was looking to go to Canada for a few months next year, be class if I could get there in September time and they're still challenging (provided they actually retain half the players they traded for this year)

Yeah honestly if they're doing well the prices go up. It's not like it's cheap anyway, you just get cheaper seats from the touts outside. As I say normally you can get tickets in the nosebleeds for less than $15 and when the stadium is half empty you can move between levels freely. But me and the gf went for the Yankees game just before the playoffs and it cost us $70 each for pretty good seats. Which is like 40 pound sterling.
They're saying if they reach the world series tickets will be $1000 minimum.

I need a team, someone relatively big so easy to follow on BT but also not a favourite to win. Original thinking was Cleveland cos I have the Cavs in basketball but most of what I've watched so far has been the Cubs. I've got a general gist for some of the rules, how innings work and how strikes vs balls work and it's actually quite fun to watch, just I'd enjoy it more having a team to follow. Any recommendations or shall I just go off the teams I said?

Cubs would be a good shout. they're one of those it's always their year teams, although this year it actually could be.
If you've found yourself enjoying them then stick with them. Otherwise just keep watching different teams/games until it clicks.
Nats, Mariners, Dodgers, Royals are all perennially between great to watch and actually world series great.

I've really been enjoying the post season so far. Just watched Cleveland go 2-0 up in the American championship series against ya boys daveyposhboy but watching it casually until I pick it up for a full season. What a year this has been so far for Cleveland, it'd be incredible if the Indians can follow the Cavs' example!

Indians are 2 away from matching the all time pure winning streak of 21 games. There was a 26 game unbeaten streak that included a tie at one point so another 8 and they'd be undisputed. And it's been a hell of a lot of fun.
