I just got news the other week about our contract. My contract with RBS has been extended for at least 6 months. Contract with Capita (ie my actual employees) was extended for a full year.
@djed I'm just trying to be positive! You should apply for PPI complaints handling, iirc they have it in Northampton. It's pretty easy and the money's good. Gonna be going for a long time with all the FOS referrals because the banks have made such a bollocks up of it.

I did look at it but I couldn't handle being on the phone most of the day. There are positivies to it tbh, mainly monetary and as long as I can roughly justify it I can choose my own shifts. But it's just retail in general that wears you down.

I start work at (roughly) 5am for £6.35 an hour, I don't know what time I start until the evening before and no idea what time I finish until I've finished. Stockroom is 95% full so there's no room for new stuff.

I get £5.19 an hour. Work 5 times a week as well, and I'm supposedly part time. I work at least 30 hours per week but my wage packet at the end of the month is fairly good for a kid who doesn't have to pay any bills.

But it's just retail in general that wears you down. Working for claims companies is mainly phone work and firing out generic template letters - working for banks though you don't spend that much time on the phone (well, as far as I know of RBS, Co-op (Manchester), Lloyds (Leeds), Allied Irish (Belfast) and Barclays (Warrington) case workers... a pretty decent spread), maybe a 10 minute conversation with a customer (if that) 2 or 3 times a day. Unless it's in the complaints telephony teams. But it looks like complaints handling. No idea what the bank is in Northampton though. Liverpool_96 generally anything under 35 per week is part time! I don't want to say how much I get per hour. D:

I work for the Transport Research Laboratory doing a variety of things (basically whatever someone tells me). Core Logging (posh word for measuring roads basically), making concrete cubes and doing tests on them, making up asphalt samples and testing the friction on them to see which is best for roads and shit.
It's alright, money is decent enough. Keeps me going.

What happened to SD in thingy Stu? I'm a copywriter (as in writing body copy for websites) and spent today doing about 40 pieces on gardening and garden furniture. Also got sent another 200 things to do with flowers probably for the next week or so. I hate gardening, but after today now know everything a person can do about bird tables. Christmas is gonna be shite, think they need about 1000 pieces done and I'm the only one working on it in my department so far. So if my post are of bad quality in this forum its likely I've written about 3,000 words over the previous 8 hours and can't be arsed haha. Got an interview for more a design base role on Monday that would start in January if I get it, just as my contract at this current place finishes.

Boooooo
Surely Asda is better than that place though? Just looking at all that polyester and Lonsdale shit from outside the shop makes me depressed.

Yeah ASDA is a lot better.
Much closer was well, within 2 miles of where I live, where Whiteley was a 25 mile drive each way every shift.

Only have about 4 hours left to hit my target for the week. 20 minutes left of my shift, just gonna take a knee for the rest of the day.
