Bad day today. Recent project was going well (have to complete this + another by mid Feb). Then I got onto a section where I needed to make a BNC plug. Hardest fucking cuntiest piece of shit ever. Wasted 2 and a half hours trying it without making progress.
I'M MUAD.

Been told I'll always have a job teaching history waiting for me when I get out of uni by the head of department at my old school who's also head of sixth/practically assistant head and I can take my PGCE whilst teaching part time there. Buzz.

We are once again looking for staff, technically been short since October 2012. Why do people find such a basic job so difficult? If I get stuck training another woman who asks questions like "ronaldo, where's he running today?" I'm going postal.

I've always wanted to work in a bookies, but there's not been any vacancies the few times i've asked places. Getting to sit down for hours, seems pretty decent to me.

Depending on where you work and how busy it is, it's anything but an easy ride sitting on your arse all day. My shop is busier than most and you'll be running about after punters from 10 until 8 some nights. It's a good laugh, I love my job but unless you're working in one of these brand new shiny shops in a city centre that does 100 bets a day, then it's not just sitting on your arse all day. Stu's a mong that doesn't understand how to update twitter and not get sacked though

Really at a loss of what to do... I've been offered a three month internship in a Genetics lab that I applied for in like October that said it would only be starting in May 2014, to start in February. It's a scientific direction that's probably the best possible route for me in terms of interest and what I actually hoped to gain from my Science degree (graduated 2 years ago in May).
But it means giving up my job in my shop, popular sports and fashion retailer, flagship store, where I'm a supervisor and probably 3 months away from Trainee manager or maybe Head Office if I wanted to give that a go. I've worked there for coming on 3 years, and I've really enjoyed it and only really recently started looking at store management/merchandising/brand relations as a proper career, one that I think I'd enjoy.
I don't want to feel like I've wasted my degree, but I also feel like Science, at least the subjects and areas that I'd be interested in working in Ireland (hate pharmaceuticals, so that's a huge chunk of industry gone), is stupid hard to succeed in. Everything is so subjective on who you know, what subjects you happen to have studied, and then having to study for years for a PhD to really get anywhere.
Don't expect a huge amount of advice, just wanted to get it down cuz I'm really going back and forth on it.

a three month internship? So, you're basically a bitch for 3 months and then shown the door, is that right? Fuck that, stick with what you have at the moment if you're thinking of progressing within your company and you'll have a wider skillset to keep your options open. Matt
