Linda McCartney sausages are sound as fuck. I do feel that with most vegan friendly food, especially meat substitutes, you need some sort of sauce because there’s no natural juices. Although there is a place in the US that makes its burgers with something to replicate myoglobin so you get the ‘rare’ effect. I don't really go for the meat substitute stuff that often because of that really. It's more of a last ditch, what's in the freezer type thing if I'm skint and stuck for stuff in the house. Usually make curries, soups, pasta bakes and recently been trying asian stuff. The asian based sauces are absolutely gorgeous but there are so many little niggly ingredients it can be a pain sometimes. But there's one peanut-butter based one I've been making recently and jesus christ it's gorgeous

Meat substitutes are great, I swear by them. Haven't really had to switch up the kinds of things I cook, tbf it's stuff like curries, pasta sauces and risottos so there's always layers of other flavours.
Also quorn nugs > the real thing

Nah it's not even close to proper beef mince, that's the one thing I couldn't stop because I have it with everything, tacos, spaghetti Bolognese, pasta bakes.
Have dabbled with Quorn mince and rice for work lunches and if the sauce is strong it's fine. The chicken nuggets again are ok with a sauce. The fake chicken burgers were amazing.

the replacements are getting better, its definitely easier to be vegetarian than vegan because the entire quorn range is available. the quorn vegan cumberland sausages are horrible compared to the normal quorn cumberland sausages.
it's getting there, supermarkets are beginning to have a lot of normal lines now that are vegan and cost similar/less than the meat alternative to it, so its all going in the right direction. the main thing people can complain about is the cost, once that comes down with more things on the market that excuse is no longer valid

Quorn mince is dreadful, one of the only things I’ll tell my gf “do not give me that shit”.

I do a curry with Quorn rather than Chicken and I think it’s so much nicer, soaks in the flavour sooo much better.

Quorn Cajun fillets are A1.
Also I’m not sure if they’re vegan suitable or not but the new veggie stuff from McDonalds is great. Not exactly a healthy option but really good nonetheless.

The soya mince from Tesco is far superior to Quorn and is actually vegan

finished veganuary and dropped a stone in the month. I think that's more to do with how unhealthy I was just before Christmas and going vegan for the month forced me to think out my meals and cook a lot more rather than specific health benefits of just going vegan. But I enjoyed it, felt really good. I'm sticking with it now but allowing a bit of flexibility if I forget to prep lunch or something, though I think I'll definitely stick to vegetarian - haven't missed meat at all.
