We're back in the Premier League and we're signing highly rated young European players, I forgot how good it was for a transfer window to be exciting and to not have to worry about us signing dross like Dwight Gayle or Matt Ritchie. It looks like we're not afraid to spend any of the £500 billion we got for getting promoted with us already forking out £15M to strengthen the midfield, looking at the squad I expect to see at least 3 more 'big' signings with a new goalkeeper, right back and striker needed ideally before the start of the season.
After looking at the end of season celebrations, with players like Gibson, Clayton etc. just getting pissed with the fans it seems like there's a good harmony with the squad and the town as a whole at the moment, something we haven't had for a long time and something Karanka should be praised for achieving. It also shows the belief in the squad and resources that I honestly feel we wont be in a relegation battle this year, that may just be blind optimism but I honestly believe we have a stronger squad and manager than at least 5 other teams in the league.
Friendlies
York City (A) - 09/07/2016
Doncaster (A) - 16/07/2016
Aston Villa (A) - 30/07/2016
Expect a mid table European club to come to the Riverside a week before the season starts if past years are to go by.
As things stand, the probable line up for next season will be;
We're going to do a Leicester (without sacking the manager and the racist orgy)
