Just so I can have somewhere to focus my pessimism.

As leaked from his partners snapchat (and probably costing her a fair few £'s given the nda's she will have signed), Xhaka was confirmed before the Euros even begun, an absolute rarity for a club that's recent transfer policy wouldn't be too dissimilar to the business model of lastminute.com From there on it was only going to get better, right? Well, for me, right. For some fans, not so much. We met Vardy's release clause, and suddenly fans of other teams who had been raving about him all season suddenly thought he was shit and past it. Myself, I thought it was a stupid idea, he wouldn't suit our style at all, and I was glad when he 'rejected' us. I say 'rejected' as I've seen a few say Wenger cooled on the deal when he didn't give us an answer by the deadline, thus making his choice a lot easier, but that's by the by. Either way, I see that as a lucky escape and even if Vardy does go on to enjoy a similar season as the one just gone, I'm still confident we're better without.
However, Wenger clearly still wants a striker. He loves Giroud, has been full of praise for him during the Euros in his punditry role but he realises we need someone to share the workload. We clearly can't get the world class striker her craves, mainly as there are none available, so with Madrid buying back Morata and determined to get £40 million + for him it looks as if we'll be going after Lacazette instead. I've seen no CB's linked which is a concern, but Rodriguez would probably signal the end of Gibbs time at the club. As for outgoings, Walcott can be sold if he wants but seems to be knuckling down, likewise with Ox. Jenkinson has been linked with several PL clubs but I reckon he'll stay and Debuchy will be moved on instead. Szczesny is meant to be going back out on loan to Roma which probably means Ospina will stay in the number 2 role for this season.
Fuck knows about a starting XI because I've no idea how he wants Xhaka to fit in.
