Don't understand why everyone hates Lampard these days. What has he done that is so bad?
Mourinho starts moaning at him tonight, Lampard looks perplexed and barely says anything in response and all I see is 'he's getting too big for his boots'. Weird.

‘These days’ does carry the implication that he was liked in the first place, which he wasn’t.

Well he certainly wasn't hated as a player en masse let's be honest.
Beyond West Ham and Spurs he was always largely well respected.

i think people might’ve thought he was a good player but defo not particularly likeable so if you disliked chelsea, with him being one of the biggest symbols of the club, you disliked him as well and a lot of people dislike chelsea

Tbf I never really thought of him as a hated player outside of West Ham and Spurs like Mike said. Terry and Drogba attracted all the hate and Lamps just went about his business I found. Wasn’t a particularly combative midfielder either. I’ve definitely seen a more overt dislike of him now than in his playing days, but that’s all from a Chelsea pov

As a rival fan I never had an issue with him as a player and didn't perceive him as being widely disliked.
When he became Chelsea manager I had no strong opinions on him either way but I just don't think he comes across well to a lot of people. Things like his response to Sterling's comments about black managers - just seemed to really lack self awareness. Post match interviews he just comes across poorly a lot of the time, seems very defensive and like he has a chip on his shoulder and just doesn't seem very likeable. Comes out with some bollocks too.
A contrast would be Arteta. Yesterday was probably the first interview I've seen with Arteta but he was immediately very likeable. Was very honest in his responses and analysis of the game and seemed very knowledgeable and I enjoyed listening to him. Was literally the anti-Lampard who seems grumpy, moany and tedious.

Fat Frank was definitely a thing amongst more than just Spurs and West Ham fans but i do think there's a lot more against him these days.
I think there's loads of reason why though - managers naturally come in for more criticism. Lampard is also the 'biggest' name at Chelsea which is somewhat rare these days and that'll lead to more focus.
Then there's the fact that he's the media darling for so many of the London based tabloids, so that's why there's naturally a push back against him.
We've already covered his privilege and lack of self awareness in realising it, but that only exacerbates it.
Ultimately it's a combination of the above.

I like the look of Reggie and I really like Ndombele completing the full 90 twice in a week
I've never really liked Lampard but its literally only down to the rivalry, huge respect for him as a player and his achievements. If he's put his foot in his mouth a few times as a manager then it just makes him no different to 99% of the managers out there.
Look at how much Pep talks out his arse and whinges and moans about how hard it is to manage a fucking billion pound squad with a blank chequebook and how much of a free pass he gets for it, then look at the other end of the league, the conditions hes working under Scott Parker has got a million and one reasons to be a pissy arsehole but handles himself with 10x the class

I think I said this here already but tbh I agree with everything here. He's my favourite player of all time but how he gets on with the media leaves a sour taste. Was hoping for more of an Ancelotti character but seemingly he's taking everything from the Mourinho school of whingeing.

I didn’t hate him as a player, despised Chelsea right enough but always thought he was hard to criticise (for Chelsea anyways).
That went through to last season where I complained that he actually made Chelsea likeable again, playing decent football and the youth. Went downhill though now, comes across as a dour prick.
