Fuck knows. Dreading it. Allegri or Tuchel but I don't think either are realistic. Simeone wouldn't fit for me.

not a case of getting someone better than him, not many managers in world football have a better CV than him, but the club need a change and someone whos not so precious with the clubs finances, willing to go out and get the world class talent and be ruthless with things

not a case of getting someone better than him, not many managers in world football have a better CV than him, but the club need a change and someone whos not so precious with the clubs finances, willing to go out and get the world class talent and be ruthless with things The rumours about his unhappiness with the board stem from Gazidis trying to enforce a director of football (something Wenger publicly criticised heavily) above him, as well as shifting out Dick Law who has been our chief transfer negotiater and one of Wengers right hand men for a long time. The board, Gazidis and Kroenke's son Josh have all been trying to modernise things to take responsibilities away from Wenger from transfers through to scouting so that when he does go, the club is better prepared for it. He's actively fighting against that because he's stubborn to his old methods. I honestly don't know if I want a continuity manager which I think the likes of Allegri/Tuchel would be (same playing style, maybe a bit more organised tactically) rather than an outstanding manager like Simeone who would come in and bash heads together. Think you're wrong about "willing to go out and get the world class talent", Wenger brought in Ozil, Alexis and Cech in recent years, plus blew £35 million on Mustafi and Xhaka (who was fucking immense yesterday, just to say), he's happy to spend the money now when it's needed. Also, it's a proper catch 22 with the ruthfulness, it's precisely because of his style of management that we've failed so often in the league, he puts far too much faith in players who let him down time and again, but he does it because he knows their potential and, when they play for him, they put in performances like they did yesterday. I'd love to see him shift on some of the players who've continually let him down but it's annoying because you see what the likes of Ramsey, Ox, Theo this season have done and you have to point the finger at them rather than the manager.

Simeone is the favourite, then it's Vieira, Allegri, Tuchel, Rafa, Rodgers, Howe, Jardim, Koeman.
I'd love Klinsmann or Loew tbh.

Although he's the opposite of everything Arsenal have stood for over the past 2 decades but maybe someone like Simeone is what they need. As long as he didn't tear apart the whole thing and start again he might add the steel that they have been asking for.
Klinsmann would be interesting, I was hoping he would have got the England job.

Klinsmann? Are people kidding with that? Never been close to a success at club level, and then the Spurs connection. Would be a mental appointment imo. I'd love to see Simeone but that would take balls to do, I reckon they'll want a softer transition to a new era after Wenger.

He's had one club job for one year and it was over 8 years ago lol.
It would be a risk but if you're looking for a fit then Klinsmann is along the right lines.

I'd love to see Simeone but that would take balls to do, I reckon they'll want a softer transition to a new era after Wenger. Reading Honigsteins book about the German national team, the transitions that he enforced behind the scenes were a massive part in Germany's success, and they're changes that we're currently looking to undertake too. Then he's gone in and done the same with USA too. Agree that the Spurs connection makes it unlikely but I think he'd be a decent shout for the type of role he'd be filling with us.

Weird this. Oracle Ornstein reported that Wenger met Kroenke earlier and settled his future. Fine. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40088644But, the article is a bit misleading and has me stumped. At first, I thought, right, he's met Kroenke and made his mind up, the board meeting tomorrow will hear the decision and sort out the specifics. He's definitely off, he's decided it's for the best because of the negativity around the club if he stays. He's always said he'll go and leave the club in a better place than when he came in, which, at this moment, it'd be. But the article then goes on to say; Wenger is acutely aware of the disruption his departure at such a late stage could cause, which is one of the reasons why it is most likely he will extend his reign. However, it is not definitive.
Arsenal are planning to make an announcement and release an interview with Wenger on Wednesday, when further internal changes are expected to be outlined.
Those changes will not be drastic nor impinge on Wenger's control over the technical side of the club.
There is no prospect of a director of football being appointed, though a lower-profile role to enhance Arsenal's work in areas such as scouting and contracts is under consideration.
Transfer and contract negotiator Dick Law, whose own deal expires in September, will keep his job for the time being.Which reads to me that if they won't impinge on his control, that he's staying? If anything, it looks as if it'll be Gazidis going.
