Am I imagining things or has that bit coming off the back of the air intake scoop been a thing before? Sure some teams had them in like 2013 or something.
Mclaren can be whatever colour they like if it coincides with them being less hopeless tbh

It's not been that pronounced in a while. The Mercedes today doesn't have much of one.

Stop. Stop. F1s already dead. Didn't realise Arrows were making a comeback.

All I want for this season is two constructors capable of winning a race. idgaf who. I don't think that's too much to ask.

Motorsport Manager (which I'm assuming is a SI game because there's a Steam deal where you can get it for £12.50 if you have FM) is a good game, really addictive. It doesn't have licences so no real teams but there are pretty clear parodies. Might be custom databases that fix them.
It's not just F1 either, has the lower race series (or unlicensed equivalents) too. Definitely worth a look if you like motor racing/FM.

Literally all the cars apart from the Merc have that long thin barge board. Wonder if Merc have pulled a blinder. They've also been testing a t blade type thing after there's been a loophole spotted in the rules; That McLaren is fucking hideous, first thought earlier when I was shown it was that it looks like a Marussia, now I'm thinking it's more the old BAR Arrows or even the Spyker. Quite fitting for a back marker really. Some good intricate work on the front wing and nose mounts though. Red Bull tomorrow should be fun.

That and the Mercedes are the best looking cars so far. Although I do quite like the action shots of the Renault and their ridiculous rake.
McLaren still looks fucking woeful, proper backmarker colour scheme. Sounds pig rough too.
Fully expecting Red Bull to unveil some net level aero tricks over the next few days. But headline times will be the Merc engined cars being imperious in testing in both output and times.

Testing update. Mercedes is still bulletproof for reliability, have likely the best aero package now (although the red bulls are hiding a few things) and if anything have extended their gap over the rest of the field.
Stroll is fucking useless, 3 crashes already in testing. Thoroughly out of his depth.
Ferrari may actually have a contender this year for podiums.
The McLaren will likely be at the very back of the grid and way off the pace; last time I saw today they were several seconds off the leading cars best times.

Very interesting testing performances coming through. Ferrari consistently faster than the Mercedes, to the point they even backed off on their quickest lap and were still faster by several tenths.
Red Bull are behind the Ferrari but clear of the rest thanks to the strength of the chassis.
McLaren is fucking hopeless, about 2.5 seconds slower than the leading cars and is likely to be slower than the rest by a considerable margin.
All said, it's testing, and the Mercedes are likely to be sand bagging to and those in the know expect the Merc's to have a 0.3 second advantage overall.
Either way, the top three cars all being close, with 3 different engines, can only be a good thing. If the engine in the back of the Red Bull is a supposedly inferior version of the one in the Renault, they may have a shot of a few podiums too.

Hamilton half a second quicker than anyone else in FP2 and the Ferrari's nowhere. Back to usual then.
Only different is Bottas is clearly not good enough to challenge Hamilton and may, just may, get swallowed up by the Ferrari's and Red Bull's.

At least Vettel split the Mercedes.
