Tbf Ferrari's were bpth a lot closer. Vettel could be leading going into the first corner so that'll be interesting.
Also, Stroll is going to be up there with Maldonado this year for accidents/crashes.

Weird one that, probably the most prestigious GP and also the one they're most likely to score well in, moreso now given the wider cars meaning overtaking just isn't going to happen.
This is very much a pay-off from McLaren though in allowing him to do it, and they'll still get the kick of him actually performing well in a Honda powered car.

Eddie Jordan, usually spot on, reckons Alonso is going to Renault, McLaren are going to Mercedes power and Sauber are going to Honda.
Reckon that'll signal the end of Sauber, Alonso still won't win any races and McLaren will probably end up solid midfield alongside the likes of Renault and Force India.

Stunning race yesterday, the gulf in class between Vettel/Hamilton and the rest is unreal. Just a shame Alonso isn't in a top car because he should be up there too.
Instead, he's currently turning left, left, left, left at 200mph +

Aye had just stuck the stream on hoping to catch Alonso when that happened, the contrast in coverage between F1 and Indy was ridiculous, commentators were more interested in telling us just hwo quick the medical attention got to him than offering any sort of insight into what happened, then they quite quickly showed a replay of the crash whilst the guy was still to be extracted from the car.
Crash itself is weird, he corrects the slide and it snaps back on him, but then it just steers straight into the wall. Wondering if the snap back has just basically stalled the wing and he's lost all grip. The aero is weird too because the car rolls in on itself rather than over.
Even more credit for Alonso for dropping in as an absolute amateur to these cars and qualifying for the top 9 shoot out.

I realised how mad IndyCar is when Wheldon died. Quick gloss over the actual events of the crash and more focus on showing loads of replays while saying 'look how bad this is'.

Still think they really need to overhaul the points system or go back to the old-old system.
There are only 20 cars on the grid and half of them are getting points, for basically just getting it around. 10-8-6-4-2-1 again please and stop rewarding medicority.
This is the first race I've watched this season and it just struck me how many bad drivers there are. For only being 20 strong there is a distinct lack of quality on the grid, maybe half of them at best are good midfield drivers or better in comparison with even say 10 years ago where you had 14-17 quality racers on track, irrespective of the quality of their car at the time. Now you have your elites: Seb, Lewis, Alonso. Good: Verstappen, Ricciardo, Bottas Not Bads: Perez, Hulkenberg, Sainz, Grosjean, maybe Weherlin belongs in there too, not seen enough of him. Hanging on but no real threat: Kimi & Massa. The rest aren't worth a dick between them.
