Some of Casefile is bloody freaky but do enjoy it too. Would also recommend Serial; sort of like Making a Murderer in podcast form, if you haven't listened to it already.
Currently use the commute to listen to the BBC and Guardian football podcasts, the Guardian in particular is a great listen.

I remember Exonerator asking me a while ago about The Anfield Wrap and whether I listened to it cos he was looking for some podcasts to follow and I hadn’t really given it a listen beforehand much but I listen to all their stuff now, they release loads every week. Think they find a nice balance as well, they’re not as biased as a club specific podcast might be, they get people who may not even be Liverpool fans on to plug some kind of product and talk about football as well. They’ve won a few awards and I can tell why. Other than that I listen to the Jason and Osi NFL podcast, the Ringer’s NFL and NBA podcasts and then I’ve got a few true crime ones on Spotify.

If you want to hear the literal worst take on Messi, Paul Doyle on Football Weekly nails it.
Doesn't like him because he's too good and it appears he doesn't have to work hard enough for it. Then goes on to rate Ronaldo / Maradona ahead of him.

Literally just heard that bit myself. Too perfect almost!
Not many times I disagree with football weekly though.

It's ridiculous, I can understand having a preference for a certain type of player but his assertion suggests there's been no hard work on Messi's behalf to train at what he's good at or improve on it. He hasn't always been THIS good at free kicks, he's trained himself to be so. But because that's not a physical trait it's overlooked because WAAAAARRR POWER LOOK AT RONALDO'S ABS HE MUST BE IN THE GYM MORE

I thought Damian Delaney's was bad on the Second Captains podcast yesterday. He's usually really good as well but they asked him would he prefer Messi or Ronaldo in his team and he said Ronaldo - nothing particularly wrong with that. But then his reasoning: "Messi seems to need a bit of a cast around him you know, players that can find the space and play a bit of tiki-taka, whereas you could just drop Ronaldo into any team and he'll score goals and bring them to the next level. So if you're asking me who I would want to show up for Waterford United tomorrow, it's Ronaldo".
And like, I get it's a joke question almost, those hypotheticals always are. But the idea that Messi wouldn't instantly improve literally every team in the world is just nonsensical.

Imagine Ronaldo without the service he got either at Madrid or Juve. How many goals of his these days are getting on the end of crosses in the six yard box lol? The number of assists he gets are massively lower than Messi’s as well. Ludicrous claim.

Why do you all listen to dickheads chat about footy on podcasts? You all know just as much as they do, if not more.

Not strictly true though, Jonathan Wilson is ridiculously knowledgeable and good to listen to, plus it provides a catch all for bits I may have missed over the weekend including in other leagues.
And they're often quite funny too.
And lol at Messi needing a supporting cast, his playing style has evolved with this Barcelona team over the past ten years, from winger, to free roam, to striker, and now back to relative free roam.
I 100% used to be in the Ronaldo camp several years back but have firmly changed my mind - Messi is the absolute greatest of all time and Ronaldo has a ridiculously good claim for second.
I mean I think of just how absurdly good a player Henry was - Messi will end up scoring double the amount of goals he did.
He's scored 600 goals for Barcelona alone. The next closest to him is Cesar on 232.
It's just absurd, there literally are no words for it.

Why do you all listen to dickheads chat about footy on podcasts? You all know just as much as they do, if not mor I tried Football Weekly but I really, really can't stand Barry Glendenning. The Second Captains lads are just funny to be honest, I really enjoy their chats and it's a daily show - they cover all sports as well so the fiver a month is well worth it for me. Ken Early is the main football guy and they regularly have the likes of Miguel Delaney, Sid Lowe and Jonathan Wilson on - the other day Ken Early called Wilson the "Night King of Tactics Twats". <iframe width="23.38000000000011" height="2.9200000000000017" style="position: absolute; width: 23.38000000000011px; height: 2.9200000000000017px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none;left: 15px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_69430840" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="23.38000000000011" height="2.9200000000000017" style="position: absolute; width: 23.38px; height: 2.92px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 1109px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_57203352" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="23.38000000000011" height="2.9200000000000017" style="position: absolute; width: 23.38px; height: 2.92px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 15px; top: 87px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_41212383" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="23.38000000000011" height="2.9200000000000017" style="position: absolute; width: 23.38px; height: 2.92px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 1109px; top: 87px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_77416005" scrolling="no"></iframe> Plus they have great coverage of the Irish national team, rugby and GAA, and they cover loads of interesting stuff I wouldn't really know about otherwise (this is the podcast I listened to that interview with Louise Quinn @djed).
