That's 100% what I expected to happen as soon as there were rumours he was unhappy.
Similar to Hamilton, Newey couldn't retire without at least working with Ferrari and this gives him a year to basically start work on the car ahead of the 2026 regulation change.

Most invested in a race in years this. Lando lapping quicker than Max and I'm actually bricking it in case he fucks it up.

Big Sochi 2021 vibes but he’s much more experienced now and it’s in the dry at least
The McLaren showing this much pace is interesting though. Don’t believe the Red Bull has had much in terms of upgrades yet but still, can’t remember anyone causing them any sort of issues on power tracks last year

Landoooooooooo
Think Max's car had damage from that early strike with a bollard but still, that's an incredible drive.

Thank god for Lando and McLaren for actually looking like they’re competitive up against Verstappen cos no other fucker is. He’s driving the bollocks off that car lately

Feels like this current crop make so few mistakes too. Max is faultless, Lando rarely makes errors, Piastri I can't think of one. LeClerc seems to have ironed it out, as with Russell.
Maybe that's in part because of the lack of overtaking?
