Actually sounds like that start of Alton Towers theme music.

Neymar was Brazil’s biggest problem there. Dunno if that’s how they play all the time but he holds onto the ball for too long and loses it quite often. Takes all set pieces as well even though Coutinho is surely better?

Is there a more infuriating player to watch than Shaqiri. So inconsistent with the ball and slows down every other attack.

He was infuriating when Neymar was getting forward because he just let him track back but then when they won the ball back he was free so I guess it's the freedom they gave him. Made some proper stupid decisions though.
Bilic was hilarious there.

Shaqiri was so frustrating, wasted so many counter attacks by taking absurdly long to do anything on the ball. One bit towards the end where he attempted a trick, it didn’t come off and he just gave up, and they won the ball back and he was in a terrible position because he’d just stopped. Brazil really missed Dani Alves it seemed. Behrami was superb in stopping Neymar, was impressed with him.
Wary of all these teams not getting off to an amazing start, feels like they’ll be written off when in reality it’s only one game and it doesn’t mean a huge amount at this point.

I felt as though most of the match was Marcelo pushing too far forward, he and/or Neymar dwelling on the ball too long or hilariously misplacing a pass and then a break out to Shaquiri that was absolutely wasted. I know that this isn't actually quite true but that is how I will remember it.

Also I know Gabriel Jesus has a great record for Brazil (always wary of international records though), but him over Firmino is absolutely mental. He’s far better at this point.

Well if Brazil’s manager can’t see how playing Firmino would benefit them then he’s a bit of a Tite.
For a system predicated around getting the ball into a striker who just puts the ball in the net, is Bobby better? Firmi, no. But his all round play and allowing Neymar and Coutinho to push on just makes Brazil much better. He’s more willing to take up space left by someone else as well. If Phil wants to Coutin from the left Firmino will occupy that space and give the defenders something to think about.

Neymar's fit, same team as the first game.
Coutinho to score from outside the box on skybet at 7/1

You’re all gonna have to contend with the fact the only world class players showing up at this World Cup are Ronaldo, Modric and Henderson. The rest just haven’t even tried.

The best South American team is somehow out off two 1-0 defeats. Tragic.
