Now we're down to the last 16 who do people have winning it? Has it changed from your pre-tournament pick? To be honest I don't put too much on the "poor form" in the groups from the likes of Brazil, France and Spain and I think one of those will win it. I'd lump Argentina in there too but it seems like they've got problems within the camp above just players playing poorly.

Spain are definitely my favourites, got a massively favourable draw now as well.

Still feeling France to be honest. No clear favourite though so should be interesting.

I have no idea. Usually there’s a team that doesn’t start too well but then gets their shit together when it’s important.
Just as there is usually a team who starts on fire and then gets knocked out early on. I think Holland did this a few times. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Croatia’s turn for that.

Yeah Croatia have a massive feeling of peaking too early for me, plus Nigeria and Argentina were absolutely abysmal against them, not convinced just yet. They try to play out from the back but looked shaky when Argentina actually attempted to press them. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Denmark beat them next to be honest.

Just to be different I'll say Uruguay. Not been hugely tested but yet to concede and have that great CB pairing of Godin and Gimenez. Decent little midfield who are good at maintaining the ball and two top class players up top.
Inb4 Portugal beat them.

I think Brazil beat Croatia in the final.

Think Uruguay could go far but it’s hard to shake the feeling for me that both Suarez and Cavani is more hindrance than help, they’ve both developed into pretty single-minded poachers. They used to do loads of work for one another, not seeing that as much anymore. Got £10 on them though so fingers crossed!

Whoever wins out of Uruguay and Portugal would be my hipster bet for the whole thing. They’re both proper tournament teams. A lot of the other favourites have more talent but a softer underbelly.
Other side of the draw I have a funny feeling Russia will do a number on Spain and get buoyed all the way to the final on a wave of nationalism and performance enhancing substances.

Uruguay or Portugal are my dark horses, I still think France and Brazil will come good, but Spain are hard to ignore considering how soft that side of the draw looks now. There's a big opportunity for everyone on that side of the draw to go all the way

I can see Spain struggling with Russia, maybe even going out in extra time. Croatia will be too good for everyone else in that side of the draw though including us or Colombia.

Croatia are a classic peak too early team I think. Not actually convinced they’re that great, Nigeria and Argentina were seriously awful against them. Would not be surprised at all if an organised Denmark performance takes them out.
If Spain get knocked out before the semi though, I’m not going to be able to stop myself thinking we’ve got our name on the trophy.

Having comfortably skooshed their group consisting of a last winner, this is Belgium's year
