Who will be World Cup 2018's Golden Boot winner?
Looking at past winners 6 goals is usually enough to win you the award. With Panama in their group can Lukaku or Kane take advantage and bag a hatrick and be half way there? Suarez must also be in with a shout given his group opponents.
Thomas Muller didn't have his finest season but he is the only returning Golden Boot winner, winning it in 2010 with 5 goals. Muller again scored 5 in 2014 but was pipped to the award by James Rodriguez. Muller is currently joint 8th in the all-time World Cup scoring charts with 10 goals, 6 behind compatriot Miroslav Klose who holds the record. Being just 28 it is possible this won't be Muller's last World Cup so he has a fine chance at taking that title, if not this summer then in the winter of 2022 in Qatar. The other highest all-time scorers in the World Cup returning to action in Russia are Suarez, Messi and Higuain all on 5 - but with this most likely being each of those players' last World Cups if Muller doesn't find form this summer Klose's record could be unchallenged for some time to come.
The bookies are giving: Messi 9/1 Neymar 9/1 Ronaldo 10/1 Griezmann 12/1 Jesus 12/1 Werner 14/1 Kane 16/1 Lukaku 16/1 Muller 20/1
Personally I have a tenner on Suarez at 25/1

I'm not expecting a high scoring tournament tbh, I don't think many of the minnows will lose heavily.
Think Neymar or maybe even Jesus will top score. They'll go deep and those two are the only real goal threats.

No.
Coutinho wouldn’t be bad a bad bet. Might only need 5.

Jesus is my pick and Coutinho my outsider.
Although I did wonder how the South American teams would deal with Russia? Has a South American team ever won a World Cup in Europe?

Brazil won the 1958 World Cup in Sweden. But that is the only time.

I've got Griezmann to be top scorer at 12/1, Croatia e/w @ 33/1 and a Harry Kane/Son Heung Min double to be their resepective countries top scorers @ 10/1

Griezmann isn't a bad shout but is he likely to be starting up top over Mbappe?
