Yeah that would be cool but it’s not like shift patterns are set, so if you booked a weeks holiday you don’t know if say you could only book 2 days off and you’d get all that time off. Then it’s weird having everyone on the same holidays when some people work much more or less. It’s not like any of us have contracts either so we haven’t signed anything for this. Maybe I’m being naive about it, but it just seems a system meant for like nuance and set patterns, not just slapping 25 days down for everyone. Awkward to bring up as well when you don’t really have any rights, don’t really want to piss anyone off.

So if you work 2 days a week and you end up having to use what, 5 days annual leave, do you get paid for 5 days work instead of 2?
If that makes any sense...

Nah holiday pay is paid as you make it anyway. So if you work 30 hours a week you get paid for roughly 33 hours. So you’ve already received your holiday pay.

Cos someone could work 2 days a week for a couple months then 5 days a week for the rest of the year etc. If that person had a part time contract they would still only be entitled to the part time paid-holiday. I would've just given people set hours on contracts though

The thing is everyone else is either new or leaving soon, so they won’t really say anything, it’s only me who has been here a while and is planning to stay for at least another year or so. Basically some people know their shifts each week as well, so they’d only need to book certain days off and know they’ll get a week, whereas I don’t know what I’d be working so I’d have to book it all off, ending up with less holidays despite working more days. Awkward brininging it up in these jobs though, you have little protection and most people don’t give a shit about what they deserve.
