Got sent this in the season ticket group chat for Ireland games and we're all bored as shit at home right? Or near enough, so why not.
1. Gianfranco Zola - The reason I support Chelsea, one of the main reasons I love football. 2. Ronaldo - I was 9 or 10 in 1998 and honestly Ronaldo being injured and Brazil tanking the final was one of the most upsetting things I'd ever seen. Adored everything about this guy, pure excitement as soon as the ball was at his feet 3. Roy Keane - I'm Irish. I think Keane gets underrated sometimes because he's such a dick at times and also gets seen as a "hard man" type. He was one of the best passers of the ball in the league right up to retirement. 4. Frank Lampard - best player in the Chelsea side for so long, always felt he was underrated because he wasn't as explosive as Gerrard. The consistency levels were just unbelievable and the amount of important goals or passes he'd play, just one of the best ever to play in the league imo.
Honourable mentions for Paul McGrath, Damien Duff, Zidane, Ronaldinho and Hazard.

1. Roberto Carlos - probably the first player I can remember who made playing full back look cool and as I played left back I think I wanted to be as much like him as I possibly could.
2. Jordan Henderson - comfortably my favourite player ever. In terms of ability he probably doesn’t even crack top 100 of players I’ve seen but if I was a kid now wanting to model my game like anyone, I’d choose him.
3. Thierry Henry - the first rival player I enjoyed watching, he was terrifying in his prime and the kind of player who I think could be unbelievable in any era. Everything about him, his ball control, his pace, strength and the ability when bearing down from the left to open his body up and wrap it into the bottom corner.
4. Steven Gerrard - never my favourite for whatever reason, I just never warmed to him that much (which made him going to Rangers a little bit easier) but he’s the best player to ever play for Liverpool, he could’ve played in any position for his whole career and been a huge success he was that good. I think one of his greatest assets was how instinctive he was. It bit him a few times early in his career (and later on) but when he had the right players around him, he made the game so easy for them. He never got credit for how quick he was either. He was lightning quick but never got to show it once Rafa came in and pushed him further up. Always remembered for the slip but shouldn’t be forgotten that we still had the advantage at that point, the Chelsea game wasnt where the league was lost.
Honourable mentions for Iniesta, Fernando Llorente and Fernando Torres.

A non Spurs list:
Ronaldo - because he's Ronaldo
Giggs - probably the most exciting player I saw as a kid. Amazing player
David Silva - always a pleasure to watch, possibly the best player I've seen in person
Del Piero - just awesome

this has made me realise I left out Batistuta. Need an obligatory 90s Serie A legend considering Gazzetta Football Italia was a staple of my childhood!

Juan Román Riquelme- Zero pace but absurd balance, touch and eye for a pass. Bit of an underdog after he was offloaded by Barca when Ronaldinho arrived so loved watching his renaissance at Villarreal. That Argentina '06 team is one of my favourites ever and really should have won the World Cup. My go to PES mid noughties P set piece king.
Roberto Baggio - Football Italia legend and human highlight reel. Only really caught the tail end of his career when he was doing bits for Brescia but even then he was a regular goal of the month contender scoring direct from corners etc. Once of the most intelligent players I've ever seen on the ball. Magical Kicks; that is all.
Ronaldo - The original one. First poster I had on my wall. First best player in the world I can remember. France '98 was my intro to World Cup football as well.
Jadon Sancho - From the same bit of south London as me so I have a vested interest in seeing him do well. Love the directness of his game and think he's insanely talented. Always have have added respect for British players who try to make a decent go of it abroad (same reason I had a soft spot for Steve McManaman). All that will evaporate once he comes back to join City/United/Liverpool/Chelsea.

David Hirst - Yorkshire lad, good all around striker with an absolute belter of a left foot. Belter of a right foot too. Basically every happy Wednesday memory that I have involves Hirst to one degree or other and was always who I wanted to be when I grew up.
Benito Carbone - So cultured, so sublime, so short. A poor man's Zola, really. Had the prettiest and cheekiest little chips and lobs of anyone that I've ever watched in person. Pretty sure that his row with Danny Wilson was a big factor in our relegation in 2000, would much rather have kept Carbone and fired Wilson.
Lee Carsley - I just have a soft spot in my heart for midfield hardmen who can score the occasional sexy goal. Bonus points for being bald.
Ronaldinho - I mean, there is only one Ronaldinho which is probably for the best, but on his day he was just amazing to watch. There was always the impression that he could just do anything at any time for any reason. Plus the Ronaldinho Tiempo r10 is probably my favorite boots that I've ever owned.

Four that immediately come to mind:
1. Thierry Henry Just the absolute GOAT. Growing up with Henry as your striker was just unreal, I'm just gutted I wasn't old enough to take it all in as it was happening.
2. Cesc Fabregas I've basically grown up with him and he replaced Henry as my go-to favourite player. Drove us through so many big games too, loved the club inside and out.
3. Ian Wright Ian Wright Wright Wright. Was at his peak when I first started following Arsenal and even fairly sure he scored the first goal I saw live too.
4. Mesut Ozil More of a recent one this but there really isn't anyone else I could put in there. I remember watching him destroy England in the Under 21's, and then go on and do bits at the World Cup. That we then went on to sign him was entirely unexpected, utterly ridiculous and absolutely incredible. The bloke is a human highlight reel too, for all the grief he gets we ended our trophy drought the year he joined and he's one of few players who I've witnessed draw collective grasps from a watching crowd with a skill or a touch.
