Hogan is a really strange man at times.
He’s a couple of days older than Rhys Williams who is rightly absolved from any blame or criticism for his age...

What a shite 2 hours of football that was. Can’t help but feel we should have killed that off in the 90 with those subs being made earlier. I look forward to drawing Chelsea, Leicester or Spurs and City getting Bournemouth in the quarter finals.
Rashford and particularly Martial have been diabolical as of late, yet somehow were 2nd in the league and highest scorers in the league. At least Greenwood’s looking good again.

Is Fred good these days? He was utterly diabolical there, no idea how he lasted as long as he did. McTominay was also dreadful after he came on. Weird selection and in game management from Ole for me.

Fred has improved since he first joined but he can go from looking amazing to looking abysmal quite fast. He seems to be better off the ball than on the ball and is the reason why we need an upgrade in that area. Fred and McTominay are good for certain games but not all games especially teams that are happy to let us have possession and put the onus on us to break them down. McTominay has got a bit more about him with his box-to-box attributes and is decent getting into attacking positions. Fred's a bit of a workhorse destroyer who we shouldn't depend on at all for creativity.
I'm attributing that loss to basically OGS trying to be too smart with squad rotation and partly it's one game too far after a week of facing West Ham and AC Milan (both gruelling games and not helped by OGS's existing weird squad use). International break couldn't have come at a better time. Wan-Bissaka must be fecking over the moon he can finally have some rest (after no callup) with OGS determined to play him in every minute of every game this season.

Very impressive performance from Chelsea.
Tuchel has instilled such great professional and tactical performances from this group of players.
Poor from Pep though imo. A midfield pivot of Rodri and Fernandinho would make Mourinho blush.

Goes to show just what a bad job Frank was doing - especially defensively.

Other teams aren’t having to play 3 games a week and all of a sudden City don’t look as good as they did during the winter. Almost like they actually aren’t as good as they have been in previous years and the rest of the league have just been fucked.

Goes to show just what a bad job Frank was doing - especially defensively. Yeah, I agree. Clearly there is no arguing against that. Even Lampard's biggest backers would have no choice but to concede that Tuchel is light years ahead of him. The attacking output has reduced considerably under Tuchel (this is where Lampard excelled) but in exchange we have kept fourteen clean sheets and lost only twice in nineteen games in all competitions. He has taken us into the CL semis and a cup final and the top four looks likely. None of which (expect maybe the cup final) was going to happen under Lampard this season. In addition to that he is making Rudiger look world class and has Azpilicueta putting in displays from 2015. He is a great coach and we're very lucky to have him.
