I don’t love or hate it from our side, we need to be aggressive in the draft after a disappointing free agency (mainly because we set the stall out for Watson, sigh), and the last time we had 2 first rounders we had one of the best draft classes in history so I trust our evaluations in that sense.
I don’t think, and I strongly hope, we haven’t traded to get stockpile and trade up for a QB. The only one with even a sliver of hope of being “the guy” is Malik Willis and I just don’t think he’s worth the draft capital.
If we come out of the draft now with a top receiver and a top OT, I’m fairly happy, especially if rumours are true and we get Tyrann Mathieu as well.

I'm assuming this is the setup trade for another one for the Saints to move into the top 10 because otherwise it makes no sense.
Pretty great from an Eagles POV, I wanted them to trade one of the firsts for next year if possible. I am also hopeful that the Saints will suck now that Payton has gone, though their division is awful outside of Brady and Tampa so they won't be the worst in the league or anything.
If Hurts isn't the guy (which is how I'm leaning) it gives the Eagles plenty of room for manoeuvre next year as well.

If Hurts isn't the guy (which is how I'm leaning) it gives the Eagles plenty of room for manoeuvre next year as well. See I think it makes more sense given our need not to - it’s a strong top-end receiver class (our main need), and has multiple strong offensive linemen (our other main need), so I think there’s some level of gambling that at least one of the guys we really like for either position will be out there for our picks. I feel like people really overvalue next year’s picks sometimes, if our team is anything like what we hope and these picks are able to contribute in year one, we’ve essentially traded a late round first next year for a mid-high first this year, I really don’t mind that. All of this is I think informed by the Saints’ belief, rightly or otherwise, we are basically a playoff level team with a bit of help, and given we can’t be aggressive in FA cos of the cap, this is just another way of doing that, and I really don’t hate it

I mean, I agree that people can over value future picks, but you're also really hoping that the Saints are halfway decent this year otherwise there's no doubt you gave away a valuable pick for not much in return. "If our team is anything like we hope" is just another version of "this future first rounder could be in the top 10".
I really don't see the Saints getting to the playoffs this year.. Payton, as hateful as he was, is a huge loss. I also think Allen is a pretty underwhelming hire from a Saints POV. You lose an offensive whizz in Payton, are in no-man's land at QB, and have a defensive HC who, sure, oversaw a great run defence but the Saints still gave up a lot of points on average.
You probably know the ins and outs of the organisation better than me but from an Eagles POV, I'm feeling pretty good about the value of that first rounder next year. Better than I was about the Colts future pick we got in the Wentz trade.
Edit: just to clarify, I could get on board with your view of it in terms of the value in the first round this year and potentially getting two starters if it was closer to draft day, or even draft day itself and you're confident in the way the board is gonna fall. But this far out? It's a big gamble, they've no idea how things will play out between now and then in terms of player value.

NFL teams undervalue future picks not the other way round. Obviously there’s exceptions but on the whole it’s just never worth trading up for a non-QB. There’s basically a massive correlation between teams that ‘draft well’ (noone really does), and the teams that have the most picks.

Think the bigger issue will be Sainz/Ferrari not playing the team game as cynically as Red Bull are with Perez.

Lots of Chiefs buzz around Christian Watson at WR and I’m fully on the hype train. Very boom or bust prospect though. Resigned to London and Williams being gone by the time they pick.

Just love Packers absolutely bantering the shit out of Aaron Rodgers by not taking a receiver in the first round yet again.
Karlaftis and McDuffie both seemed to have high grades at their positions so pleased the Chiefs shored up some dire needs in the defensive side. Hopefully some good value WRs are available for round 2.
Some trade and contract by the Eagles for Brown.
