Surely at least one of you lot are intelligent enough to read books and make this a worthwhile thread?
Need suggests for some fiction books to read, just read Gone Baby Gone and it was immense so I'm going to check out the film soon.
Anyone ever read the Jack Reacher books? Good or over-hyped/rated?
Looking for something with a bit of an adventure to it, don't want Moby Dick or Pride and Prejudice. D:

Currently reading Game of Throne. Being real slow about it.
Previously read American Psycho, which was just fantastically ridiculously brilliant. There's a whole chapter on just Phil Collins/Genesis xD

Fiction books have never really been able to grab my attention, I've always been far more interested in books about real life events or autobiographies.
Last night I started reading Tyson's autobiography, I think he's an absolutely fascinating character so have high hopes for it.

Game of Thrones is the best series of books I've ever read, in terms of the depth in characters and making you connect emotionally to them. Brilliant brilliant writing, taking the fucking piss with the next one though.

Read Jay-Z decoded recently, that's pretty good if you're a fan.
Read a book on Charley Burley recently too, also got Roberto Duran, Tyson and Ali books there to read.
Currently reading two books. Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell and Mo' Meta Blues: The World According To Questlove.

I've been really meaning to read Outliers.
The best book I've read in recent times is probably Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. I've been reading a few oldies on my Kindle cuz they're free that I've been enjoying too; Philip K. Dick, Austen, Fitzgerald and the Ender Saga to name a few. Pride and Prejudice is a fucking slog I'll be honest.
Jo Nesbo is great for some page-turning thriller material, sometimes is a bit gruesome, much like the Millenium series.
Born To Run by Christopher McDougal is my go to recommendation for most people though.

I tend to read fantasy and sci fi for fiction and history books for non fiction. Read the GoT books, some star wars books (which i highly recommend if you're a fan) and some David eddings books. Currently plodding through "The decline and fall of the Roman empire" by Edward Gibbon which is quite a famous book for being so ridiculously comprehensive you'd only read it as a Uni student which I am not

Childish The Jack Reacher novels are great fun to read imo. Just about to start The Boy In Striped Pyjamas. Should be decent if it lives up to the hype.

Cormac McCarthy for my birthday, excited to get into those after Christmas His refusal to use speech marks is incredibly annoying. Good books though. @hellas TBITSP is a real heart-string tugger. A bit of a kids book in how it's written, there's no fancy description or anything, very barbones writing but so emotional lol.

I've read about 30% of Stephen King's books. I'm trying to get through them all, I own most of them. Favourite one is IT. Most recent one I read was Joyland which was very good.

Currently scouting for a book or two for my holiday; any suggestions? Football/Sport related.
Thinking of Bergkamp: Stillness & Speed. Ajax, The Dutch, The War. Or Soccernomics. Anyone read any?
I wouldn't mind reading an NFL related book either, if anyone has any recommendations?

Currently in the middle of reading Tony McCoy's autobiography, it's actually very interesting, had a feeling it could be pretty dull but it isn't.
Best book i've read recently is probably How not to run a Club by Peter Hook. It's about the Hacienda. Class read
