me on the other hand, i cry inside every time edgy pop-punk fanatics have a go at the latest melancholic masterpiece i've discovered I can see.

Listening to Definitely Maybe for the first time in fucking ages. What an album man. Slide Away >>>>>>>>>
Also gives me an excuse to post the hilarious Stop the Clocks interview. I've no idea when in the interview it happens, but when Noel talks about a drunk Liam calling him at 4 in the morning about the setlist "Ehhhhh what about Little James man?" I crease up every time

They can be far too witty for themselves at times, especially Noel. Clever bloke haha.

Slide Away is an incredible track, one of the Oasis songs I can still listen to. This one's a good one as well, only found out about it a few months back as well.

I'm quite a fan of Noel's folk-like track, I'd Pick You Everytime. Loved it ever since I found it a couple of years ago.
Could listen to Oasis all day.

Just started watching the set of Knebworth in '96. It's sad that noone from this genre will ever be idolised again, it's hard to imagine a new band having the same mix of credibility and chart success. Nothing like being part of a cultural moment, our generation just doesn't seem to have it and never will I doubt. In fact it's not just hard, it'll never happen again, and the internet generation has removed the naivety from people, superstars just don't have the same kind of aura and mystique. Cameraphones have ruined everything. I remember a mate trying to compare the success of the Arctic Monkeys to them and I just laughed at him, ridiculous statement.
I'm as cynical as Oasis as anybody, and can't really stand either of them, (Noel's sense of knowing and manipulation of the media really annoy me), but this looks great:

I was brought up listening to them, well not so much brought up listening to them but my Dad would always be playing stuff like Oasis, Pulp and such when I was growing up. By time I started to get into music obviously you friends music seem sot influence you and it was all this pop songs and stuff like r'n'b and hip-hop which I didn't like in the slighest.
So I fell back onto Oasis and obviously knew it all and then my Dad decided to take me to see them at Heaton Park back in 2008, and i'm so glad that he did because otherwise I'd never have been able to say that I'd seen them.
That and Pulp - Common People is probably the song of my childhood, remember it so well when I was growing up.

Steven I've been loving Death a whole lot lately, is there any other particular death metal bands from that era you'd recommend? I was thinking of checking out Morbid Angel next.
