I do all of the cooking in my house because my Dad is fucking useless, but like others I quite often can't be bothered to do anything after work.
Started to get back into using the slow cooker, can make some lovely stuff in that.

I can cook two things that would actually require a recipe to replicate. Chili and curry. I keep on meaning to try and expand my horizons, but never get around to it. I'll usually cook more than I need though, and then it keeps me fed for a week.

Find tofu not great to cook or eat in all honesty. Girlfriend is a veggie so have used it quite a lot. I love cooking but like Blue Moon tend not to be arsed after work most days. Though the other day I boiled some spuds and had pan fried chicken and mushroom with some home made gravy. Simple as hell but so tasty compared to some of the shit I eat sometimes. After attempting Christmas dinner on my own over here as well definitely gonna be making more of an effort to cook, especially to make roasties, lovely stuff. Tofu is absolutely class when cooked properly. You should try a Sichuan dish called mapo doufu (麻婆豆腐). I've cooked it myself but I can never make it the same as the Chinese in the restaurants do. The annoying thing about tofu is trying to pick it up using chopsticks. Fucking nightmare. And I'd class myself as pretty good with chopsticks, too.

Andres I'm the same, but I know I'd never win cos vegetarians never win! I made spinach, mushroom and halloumi risotto once, it worked out quite well. Consistency was decent. My sister told me over Christmas that it's actually really easy to make if you shove it in the oven, you don't really need to stir it. I'm a little skeptical, myself. Last nights was ham, turkey, asparagus (chopped up real small apart from the heads) and the normal base with parmasan, onion, garlic, white wine, lemon juice, stock and arborio rice. Stuck some baby tomatoes in the oven with some olive oil and balsamic vinegar and tipped them into the risotto when it was done too. Read online about baking them in the oven but if I can compare it to a pasta bake they often dry out on top so put in the graft and didn't try it. You a big fan of meat replacements and the like or just fill stuff out with other veg? I couldn't live without meat, reckon I'd get so hungry too. Lmao, being in a gym/sports atmosphere a lot has made me a bit snobby and associate people saying they're a good cook with being able to boil rice, veg and pan fry chicken or make pasta with grated cheese but this is actually some next level shit. Sounds amazing. Where do you get your recipes? Maybe you're at the stage you experiment yourself but surely you started somewhere? I need some guidance if I'm going to try more complicated stuff in the new year. Also Germany's Top Scorer, I've stuck rissotto in the oven before. It tastes good and it's far easier but it wasn't a 'true rissotto' that I've had in fancy restaurants.

Never cooked a thing in my life. Really want to learn but I'm too lazy. It all started with frying an egg for me. I could about throw something in the oven till I decided I wanted to fry eggs instead of getting my mum to do it. Once I'd mastered the egg it was easy to move on to stir fry type things. I know it's not really cooking compared to what Nolan an others are talking about in here but it's a massive step up from where I was being able to make a meal out of whatever I'm given.

Like others have said, can't really be fucked to cook anything when I'm home from a late shift at work.
Never really cooked anything amazing though, can make the curry I said in the other thread, few different pasta things and toad in the hole hahaha.

Ah yeah I'm fine with frying bacon and stuff, it's just making an actual meal I've not actually tried. And eggs. Can't even crack the fucking things without wasting them!

The more I've picked up from these shows and recipes, the more I've can experiment. Raymond Blanc, Gordon Ramsey and Jamie Oliver (even if he is a bit of a Johnson) have loads of recipes online that are easy to follow or I've picked up tips from. I cooked all through uni too, plenty of times I was at Asda and cashiers saying I wouldn't buy like 'typical' students. I just try and keep things simple and not over complicate shit. Almost everything I do is in a single pan to reduce my washing up for example haha.

Made a chilli with all fresh (well, not farmer's market fresh) ingredients last night. Decided on all the herbs and spices before I made it.
Probably the best thing I've ever made. It's stunning.
