Can’t believe we never signed him. Salt in the wound was that we actively chose fucking Diouf over him.

Finally finished the last dance. Reading in here I thought I’d hate MJ. But wow, what a winner. Great series. Phenomenal access for the 90’s too.

Yeah I have no idea how some people came out of that disliking MJ or thinking he's a "bully". He had the winners mentality you need to be a truly elite athlete, and he is as elite as they come. He expected a certain standard of himself and his team mates, he never asked anyone to do anymore than he was willing to do himself.

He literally punched a teammate who was about 4 inches shorter and 40 pounds lighter than him. It’s not that hard to figure out why people would think that about him.

If that was a typical or common occurrence than yeah I'd absolutely agree. But personally, I wouldn't condemn someone as a bully or bad person because one time they threw a punch at a 6ft 2 teammate during a heated arguement. Kerr said Jordan apologised for it the same day and Kerr immediately had no ill feeling about the incident and they ended up having a great relationship. Not to say that it's right what he did, because it wasn't, but it's not enough for me to think he is now entirely dislikable.

Think the documentary was a little bit of character cleaning for Jordan as well though. He was a well known cunt.

Hope this comes with English subs. I absolutely can't wait for this, always struck me as an interesting character. Also can't believe we didn't sign him Up there with Pires as the most underrated player in PL history imo

I watched Spotlight on The Troubles: A Secret History the other week and it is a really fantastic documentary series imo, it tackles the complexity behind the Troubles really well and imo provides a pretty balances view of things which is really difficult when talking about Northern Ireland. Would recommend to anyone who has access to iPlayer if you've interest in learning a bit more about what happened here: www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0008c4b

Finally got round to watching The Wire. If it hadn't been well known as one of the best TV shows ever I'd have given up somewhere between ep1-8. Such a slow burner but gets to good. Into season 3 now.

Best tv series ever and i dont think anything will ever top it. S3 and 4 are my personal favourites but i wont spoil anything. S2 is underrated aswell, seen as one of the weaker seasons but it has alot of highlights. I still crack up thinking of how McNulty goes to so many lengths just so homicide has to deal with the floating body lmao

I'm finding the Spurs All or Nothing a tough slog to watch - much like Mourinho's Spurs I guess. Idk if it's the format, the access or whatnot, but it just feels like the sort of insight and stuff I felt you get from the City one isn't there.
The two extra episodes of Take us Home for Leeds though are good, all things considered. Can tell they very much had to cut it short because of Covid but the stuff with the fans at the end when they realised the players were at the ground, and the production of it all was just really good. Victor Orta needs to rein it back a bit though.

i haven’t flew through it the same way i did with the city one but i also thought the city one just wasn’t that entertaining because they pissed the league, i literally only cared for it initially because of the 4-3 and the champions league tie, there’s no reason for me to really care for the spurs one like they had such a nondescript season. i’ll finish it once i’ve got a weekend to go through it but yeah, just hasn’t gripped me much

The biggest moment of our season was the much loved and respected manager being given the boot and that was over and done with by 20 mins of the first episode so the rest of the series could become the Mourinho show
If we didn't have an Amazon film crew around the club all year we may not have sacked Pochettino and we almost definitely wouldn't have replaced him with Mourinho, a man and manager who is really the antithesis of everything ENIC and Levy have ever marketed this club to appear to be. The bits that aren't Mourinho dominated are mostly trying to humanize Levy and comes across as a way too obvious attempt to change public perception of him. Must be such a relief to the dressing room to have it all over and done with now

The best bits were always Levy trying to appear human and utterly failing.

Ah I'm glad you've both said that because I was worried it was me just being cynical and thinking it was a Levy marketing exercise.
