Good weekend ahead.
A mate of mine is cousins with Matt Macklin so we're hoping for a Paddys Day trip to Dublin to see him fight Andy Lee.

Really looking forward to the Barker fight, seems like a genuine bloke so hope he does well. Anyone else see Bellew get absolutely schooled by Stevenson at the weekend?

Yeah. For all his talk Bellew didn't half fight scared and its not often I say that, often when people box people say they're fighting scared and I think that's wrong but in Bellews case he wasn't even Boxing to a gameplan really it was just stay as far away from Stevenson as possible.

Yeah, think Stevenson has looked beast though recently, him and Kovalev would be a good watch. Kovalev's knockout on the undercard was brutal.

Yep felt so embarrassed for Bellew after all that bollocks he chatted. He went in happy to lose on points and got absolutely flopped for it. I know I should be supporting a scouser but he just talked too much shit and didn't back it up in the fight. I'd have been proud of him if he'd actually went for it and got KO'd but he ran away and got what he deserved in the end when he got cornered.

Bellew is a proper gobshite, not good enough at world level either. Should just stick to European level.

Who do people fancy if Kovalev and Stevenson get it on?
I'm rolling with Kovalev all day.

Would be very interesting. I think it's pretty nailed on that they'll fight it each other next year, there's a reason they were both stuck on the same bill

I know yeah but Stevenson didn't sound too keen after the fight, probably just trying to ensure he get's paid a lot of money for it though.

Yep it's gotta be Kovalev. Even a couple of Bellews punches rocked Adonis for a second so imagine when a real tank like Kovalev connects.

Stevenson is better skilled though so it's not like he has no chance and I've wrote off better skilled fighters recently and been proved very wrong(Groves and Garcia) thinking that their opponents would walk through them.
My reasoning is though that Sillakh is a pretty skilled fighter also and although he has a weak chin I didn't expect Kovalev to get rid of him like that, Kovalev even took some pretty big shots in the first round and never blinked so he obviously has a chin too.

Yes ChappyHova! I knew that you'd have a boxing thread here in no time haha! I'd back Kovalev myself but Stevenson would definitely trouble him, he's extremely skilled and slick but I do think that eventually Kovalev would put him away. I don't see the fight happening for a little while yet though, Stevenson has only recently built up his popularity and at 36 he may not have a particularly long reign as champ. I think he'll have another couple of lower risk fights and then take on Kovalev when the price is right.
